Let me help here.

If most AI projects lose money, someone has to pay for them.

Hence: cost cutting.

So, actually, you can blame AI. But not for the usual reason claimed. AI is not replacing humans, it is replacing profits. And without profits, you can’t employ humans.

Companies Are Blaming AI for Layoffs. The Real Reason Will Piss You Off.
180,000 tech workers lost their jobs in 2025. Companies say it’s because of AI. Oxford researchers call BS.

Sure, they've made an environmentally catastrophic mass hallucination disinformation plagiarism Clippy that will destabilize the world, but also their other goal is to replace human workers entirely and let us humans starve. A boycott of AI is the most important boycott of your entire life.
"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."
Analysis: OpenAI is a loss-making machine, how can it survive?
Don't call it a bubble! Loss-making monster OpenAI is on the hook for $1.4 trillion (with a T) in compute commitments. How can this go on?

This interview is a snapshot into where tech companies are with online harassment right now.

They know how to end it, but they decided not to spend the money. They’re prioritizing growth (and profit) above all else. And they’re blaming YOU for logging on to the platform they designed to be unsafe.

Watched @monteiro.bsky.social's "How to draw an orange" keynote and I think more people should. Because while it has some great "AI" criticism emerging from a deeply humanist and creative perspective I really enjoyed how it talks about the structures that keep us from becoming ourselves.

When we think of sexism, it's easy to think of *active* efforts to discriminate against women. But sexism also operates *passively* - like through our inaction on issues like childcare and paid family leave. In that context, return-to-office policies are sexist in consequence, even if not in design.
"The labor participation rate for women with children younger than 5 had the biggest midyear drop in more than 40 years during the first six months of 2025."

I designed a utility procedure to turn a JSON object into a bunch of relational tables in SQL Server, along with a new procedure that loads those tables.

Should work on SQL 2019 and newer.

Your thoughts or feedback is appreciated. :)
