I think my favorite aspect of One Battle After Another is that Bob is like Jack Burton in Big Trouble in Little China or Britt Reid in the Michel Gondry Green Hornet: just a hopeless incompetent surrounded by people who do the actual work for them.

The Insurrection Act does require an actual insurrection. The violence in Minneapolis is almost exclusively one-sided. People yelling at you, calling you names, and recording you on a cell phone isn’t violence. And if the courts let Trump say it is, we’re in a lot of trouble.

Something I'm convinced of (despite elite conventional wisdom swearing otherwise) is that this is still the same country that erupted into a "passion for democracy" in the summer of 2020, only to have their passion scolded and sworn off by all their elected leaders
I see this take around from time to time and totally disagree. ICE just murdered a woman standing up to them. No Kings is among the largest protests in history.
