I try to be sensitive to not proclaiming things to be new that are not new, but I’m not aware of a time when this has been the way a president talked about other countries with which we had no conflict. Certainly not in my lifetime.

Every day some story breaks me some. Today it’s the guy who approached parents at a school patrol, told them he was with Indivisible, and asked about how the patrol system works. The parents gave vague answers, followed him back to his car — and of course it was ICE.

Really, though, I actually kinda like this phenomenon. I'm Southern, so we get this all the time from other Americans, mainly in blue states. So having them experience this same poorly nuanced hatred is a real "grab the popcorn" moment for me.
