The window of what was considered career-ending has shifted so far since 2016 it’s beyond shocking. And the press has played a huge role in it with their “he’s just a different guy” schtick 🤮
It’s notable that the president can go on TV and be a total gutter racist, and somehow this isn’t news in the slightest. Says a lot about the sickness of American society right now.
Trump: "They're paid agitators and insurrectionists. Nobody talks about the fact that $19 billion at a minimum is missing in Minnesota, given to a large degree by Somalians. They've taken it. Somalians. A lot of very low IQ people."

I know "Obvious Racist Says Obviously Racist Thing" isn't automatically newsworthy, but if that racist is the current president, it sure as hell is.
So far, I am only seeing TPM, Mediaite, and Daily Beast focusing on this.

We live in a world where the president calling an ethnic group "very low IQ" and "bad for our country" while insisting they "ought to get the hell out of here" barely makes headlines. talkingpointsmemo.com/news/trump-m...

The cowardice in Congress is widespread, and almost all of them seem allergic to doing their jobs.

The remedy for a Mad King is impeachment, and every member of Congress swears the same oath.

If you live in NC, call Senator Tillis and tell him what you think.
CNBC: McConnell has said that if the president moves on Greenland, this would something that Republican senators would impeach him on. Are you in that camp?

TILLIS: I'm not going to go to impeachment. Let's say it was a kinetic action -- I'd immediately go for a War Powers resolution.

What a cowardly way of calling for removal.

You're a member of Congress. Congress has the power to remove a president - through impeachment.

Yet, you don't call for that. You don't call for something that involves *you* taking action.

Posting this is embarrassing.
Invoke the 25th Amendment.

This is what happened in our neighborhood yesterday. ICE snatched a human being off of our streets, roughed them up badly, and then pepper sprayed legal observers as they documented it all. This is a daily occurrence happening all throughout Minnesota right now.

And it’s worth pointing out - again, ad nauseam, until our ears and eyeballs bleed from the repetition - that this couldn’t happen without the active approval of Republican members of Congress who are abdicating their moral and Constitutional responsibilities anew every minute they let this go on.
I don’t know about you but I’m kind of tired of waking up each morning wondering what Trump is going to do today that would’ve gotten every other president in American history impeached by sundown.

Trump’s line is that disrespect to law enforcement is punishable by death. Impeach and remove. This is not tolerable.
Q: "Do you believe that deadly force was necessary?"

Trump: "It was highly disrespectful of law enforcement. The woman and her friend were highly disrespectful of law enforcement…Law enforcement should not be in a position where they have to put up with this stuff."
