Actively anti-American governance.

He doesn't see us as a single country guided by laws.
He sees only people who help him, and people he can take from.

These attacks are illegal. We need an investigation, and the people ordering them must be held accountable.

They are also profoundly un-American.

Capital punishment without a trial is the antithesis of what this country is supposed to stand for.

*Technically Hegseth's tattoo is not one associated with 1930s &40s Nazi Germany.

However, it *is* a tattoo that modern far-right extremists and people who self-identify as pro-Nazi have adopted.

It is not his only tattoo that is associated with the modern far-right.

The SecDef has a Nazi tattoo*.
The President's biggest donor did a Nazi salute twice after referencing a famous Nazi slogan.
The VP intervened to make sure the admin rehired someone fired for pro-Nazi statements.

These kids are following the examples set by their leadership.

For those who didn't follow it closely, this is *exactly* the kind of thing the TwitterFiles & all that forced outrage was allegedly upset about.

Except, this may actually be worse. If this request was coming from DOJ, it may have come with a threat (we don't know yet) - an escalation from the TF.

"Fall; or Dodge in Hell" isn't Neal Stephenson's best work, but I wish more people were familiar with it's prediction/criticism of [all ⬇️ of this]

That is (unfortunately) most likely correct, but I do think we can also celebrate the partial wins when we get them

They know we have numbers and power.

As a percentage of total population, that beats Hands Off but is behind No Kings 1.

In terms of total attendance, this *is* the largest protest movement in American history.

# of rallies is harder to get good evidence for (now and historically), but, as far as I have been able to find, this era leads there, too.

There were more people in Boston - just Boston - on 6/14 than the nation-wide peak of the Tea Party movement (4/15/09).

This protest movement is unlike anything the country has ever seen.

It's a complete failure of 2025 media that the following sentence is not common knowledge:

We are in the midst of the largest sustained protest movement in American history.

After Saturday, there will have been 3 events larger than anything during the Vietnam War.

The "largest protest in American history" sounds like tooting their own horn, but it's likely to be accurate.

No Kings June was the #1 largest protest in US history by almost any metric.
Hands Off in April was in the 3rd-5th range.
And there are already more events planned on 10/18 than 6/14.
