The BBC coverage is absolutely terrible.

It leads on "sharply contested narratives"

It has a dramatic skew to the US government

It has posted the video but has failed to report on what it shows: it shows the US govt account is untrue

Man, I bet the NRA is going to be furious when they hear that jack-booted thugs from the federal government executed a law-abiding citizen for exercising his Second Amendment right to carry a handgun.

Any second now, I'm sure.

He was a white guy, if that helps?

Hello? NRA?

We can all get things wrong, but if I had been this consistently and catastrophically wrong about such important issues I don't think I could carry on publishing my opinions every week.

I'd want to go away and think about how I'd so badly misunderstood the things I write about.

Photo of the Day.

Around HALF of Greenland’s adult population is believed to have attended anti-Trump protests today.

This photo was taken by Sean Gallup for Getty Images. It captures the thousands who gathered in the capital Nuuk, to reject Trump’s threats to take the island.

Thought I’d do a mega hread on NPR, partly because I’ve seen some London based commentary that doesn’t really get the bigger picture quite right imho

Some important new government policy that Native Americans might be interested in:
Trump talks about Denmark and Greenland just now: "The fact that they landed a boat there 500 years ago doesn't mean that they own the land."

Hello, historian of empire speaking: this is colonialism.

All those recent scholarly apologists for historical colonialism lie unmasked: they really do believe colonialism was ethically good, and they think powerful countries should be colonising again.
WATTERS: Taking out a dictator in Venezuela -- how does that help the average American?

JD VANCE: First of all, what it means is we're gonna be able to control the incredible natural resources of Venezuela

The UK's governing elites are more addicted to X than in any other country, and a lot about the country's politics makes sense when you understand this fact.

I didn't think they were delusional enough to think that the whole population was as addicted as they were, but here they are saying it
The government will probably need to formally correct the record: as the numbers are wrong, the definition/meaning is wrong, and the "more than any other social platform" is wrong.

This may lead to the government developing a more informed view of the real picture.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

The Government coming off X is the bare minimum and realistically at this point I think we should seriously be looking at taking enforcement action against the company, in line with the Online Safety Act and VAWG Strategy. I will be pressing the Government on this when Parliament returns next week.

For better or worse, public figures are judged when they die — their character, contributions, beliefs. It's undeniable that millions have mourned Rob Reiner's tragic death, celebrating his talent and contributions. I suspect when a certain public figure kicks the bucket, sentiments wont be the same

Huge respect to the papers for finding both an 88 year old worried about the tax bill on her 6 bedroom Kensington house and a 20 year old fretting about only being able to save £12k a year tax free.
Top work all around. These are not easy case studies to find.
