I legitimately didn't know they were competing with Steam and it's crazy to me that they burnt so much money on what sounds like something with very little (or wildly misguided) market research.

I don’t talk about it much because the situation doesn’t really change but it’s still insane to me what an enormous amount of really talented game developers are out of work. just whole studios worth of incredible people, often people who worked on beloved games, unemployed.

No Kings is actually doing a really good job of getting small towns involved, in a way that no protest movement in the past has that I can think of. My tiny hometown had a protest, and will have another one this week. Rural Utah towns are seeing folks show up.
