I guess my problem with "what if we were all one collective being" is that part of being human has always been that we are, to some extent, one collective being and a big reason capitalism screws us up is it constantly tries to force us to deny that

1) it's definitely a Vince Gilligan show, obvious from the opening scenes
2) he's well inside both his and the SF genre's comfort zone. Pretty and well acted but science victim fiction fans will be 2 steps ahead at all points

A thing in the AI Discourse that offends me? There's so much focus on using AI for accessibility. As if disabled people don't deserve human effort and expertise?

Now that everyone knows AI's a bubble economists need to start reporting growth figures with AI companies subtracted out. It's getting weirder and weirder hearing "we're not in a recession" while every week more shops close and unemployment figures rise.
