I am eternally delighted to have friends the exact kind of nerdy that so many of them will watch RotK extended edition on a work night together. Again. Bless them and happy birthday to the friend who requested it!!!!

We're watching an old black and white film and I was all 'huh, this is written like a play. It reminds me of [play by the same damn author]'

I'm laughing but also hell yeah

I'd put something off for over a year. Turns out it cost me 4 dollars and a password reset.
I am making valiant attempts to learn from this experience, and yet....

One thing I love about the Onion staff is that when you click on these articles, it's clear they do actually read our media releases.

I organized our little bike corner and used some command hooks to hang up our helmets so they'd stop laying around. I'm so pleased with how nice it feels for such an easy change!!!

Okay, I will preface this with the GIGANTIC disclaimer that I promise I know how this looks, and I *swear* this is not personally motivated: If you have an old #LiveJournal account, and it has things you still care about in it, download it or import it to Dreamwidth SOON. Details:

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

In Oct2024 I started a photo project: a picture from the same spot on my walk to work every morning for a year. A week after I finished, I caught this golden view. Nothing is ever “the same”, so enjoy every moment (the project continues)

Good heavens, I did not realize how many people wanted Stacy's Bonne Maman jamvent reviews. Talking about, "Is she silent, or is she being silenced?" 😂

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service
