I'm Smeg, unprofessional illustrator. My primary background is in comics-style art, and I enjoy applying my skills to silly ideas for my own amusement. There is little at which I won't laugh, but I have no tolerance for genAI—LLM users have empty minds, while image generator users have empty souls.

The slop
The theft
The brainrot
The loss of work
The crumbling of creator rights
The destroying of the environment and infrastructure
But it's also the destroying of trust in anything that you’re not seeing with your own eyes right in front of you.
Wonder now turned to the narrowing of eyes in immediate scepticism seeing something magical.
Questioning the realness of everything from a stilted written apology to profound works by students in school.
It feels like a slow poison to creativity and humanity at large.

Gerald Casale was at the KSM & it changed his worldview, which led to him forming Devo with Mothersbaugh. Without Devo, Weird Al wouldn't have made Dare to Be Stupid, which ended up on the TF:TM soundtrack. That associated Al with Junkions, which led to his casting in Animated.

When I moved to CLT around a quarter century ago, a coworker described it thusly: "you know how they call NYC 'the city that never sleeps?' Well Charlotte is the city that never wakes up."
The craziest thing about this is that Charlotte is literally the most boring, normal place you can imagine. Charlotte makes Indianapolis look like Victorian London at its most dynamic. Charlotte almost perfectly conveys the experience of Locked-In Syndrome. Charlotte is an amiable void in spacetime.
