What you don’t and in many ways can’t understand, is that as a black man, I can walk in the room in a $1500 suit, the most educated, the most traveled and have the most money, all standards of success in America, and still be talked to like shit, treated like shit or arrested for my blackness.

Was Lyme disease a thing in 1980s Ireland? I remember being covered in sceartáns. We would count to see who had the most! Thankfully we never got sick.

I live in (what I think I'm correct in saying is) the most diverse constituency in the whole country - Dublin Central, D1 - *and* I'm old enough to remember what this place was like before significant immigration, and the idea that immigration hasn't been good for this country is fucking laughable

Amen. I grew up in a 99.9% White Irish theocracy. One colleague I knew was married to a Jamaican woman. Ppl would literally stop their cars to stare at her, having never seen anyone Black before. This country has developed in leaps & bounds as diversity & acceptance have increased.

When wearing a poppy is enforced, it stops being an act of remembrance and becomes about compliance. Conservatives love that, of course, because they are all about forcing compliance. Everyone else should be supporting the ability to make a choice.
"Where's your Poppy?!?" is not even virtue signalling, it's ENFORCED virtue signalling and UK conservatives fucking love it.
