Tonight at 8:30 PM our constituent Ricky was pepper sprayed by ICE on 18th & Polk. 2 agents parked their car, got out and approached observers, started pepper spraying Ricky on public property, and then drove away and left.

Chelation is part of my specialty & shouldn’t be done w/o input from a medical toxicologist. It is both high-risk & inefficient, so should only be done in rare situations with close monitoring, not on kids in retail space for cash.

The subtext is, if the landlord class and their advocates aren’t excited to get a direct rent payment from the city, it’s because they have eviction notices ready to go because they want a certain class of folks out, and what class can’t work to make rent right now??
This is really it! Getting emergency rental assistance approved helps landlords! Typically, the payments are made directly to them! Back rent of evicted tenants is rarely recovered! If the council moderates actually supported landlords, they'd rush to get this approved. They just hate poor people
Watching every other small immigrant owned business suffer while we bust our asses to make sure landlords get paid. 🤬
