The thing about trying to frame LGBTQ discrimination as "religious freedom" is that we have never granted any religion the freedom to harm or control others. That is where freedom stops. You can *believe* all you want that a woman marrying her girlfriend is evil, but belief is for you, not others.

You've probably heard of Bill C-12 and C-2, but there's a slate of other bills that, when assembled together transformer style, could create a freedom repression machine that rivals the one south of the border.

It’s very clear both Uber and Waymo have provided the government my clients’ location via these ride sharing company’s ✨massive✨ tech surveillance op.

No warrant—just pure cooperation.

Stay woke, y’all.

This is the same millionaire who was paid to act in the new Safdie movie and proceeded to loudly honk about how much money movies could save by using AI instead of extras.

Never seeing that fucking movie.
Never taking this bleating sack of venture capital seriously about anything.
Canadian multimillionaire and Shark Tank guy Kevin O'Leary went on TV to say he's upset Zohran won't talk to him: "I and others who invest in real estate have tried to get a meeting to figure out what's rhetoric and what's policy. So far for me it's been crickets."

you will pry the oxford comma and em-dashes from my cold, dead hands
Someone just informed me that they find the Oxford comma to be “overrated and unnecessary."

I find such comments to be discourteous, disrespectful, and unwarranted.

It may be the longest and most expensive media trial in Canadian history

In this budget Carney: #cdnpoli

✅ cuts luxury taxes on private jets and yachts
✅ removes the empty house tax
✅ cuts corporate taxes lower than the 🇺🇸 rate
✅ ties healthcare transfers to GDP resulting in a $300M reduction per year
✅ cuts WAGE by over 50% in a GBV crisis
✅ eliminates 40k jobs
Mark Carney is billing it as an “investment budget,” but with plans to cut $60 billion in program spending and eliminate 40,000 jobs (10% of the federal public service), @dtcochrane.bsky.social says it’s more like an austerity budget

Our podcast live from inside the budget media lock-up yesterday:

Once again, the "excesses" experienced were largely hallucinated through social media. People in positions of power, addicted to Twitter, scrolling through stories and opinions that they found confrontational--or reading conspiracies and horror stories from their fellow travellers.
When people talk about the excesses of MeToo, they have to lie, because the reality is that there was no massive social reckoning forcing people to believe survivors or hold perpetrators accountable. In fact, there has been a significant backsliding and new punishments in rejection of MeToo

Carney allowed an anti-choice conservative into the Liberal Party in effort to consolidate a majority and ram through his austerity.

There is just no bottom floor with Carney, it seems.
UPDATE: the new Liberal MP opposes a woman's right to choose according to the Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada

Scary stuff to see the LPC welcome this. Luckily the NDP caucus remains fully pro-choice
