In other news, I am reading a book that’s 1,000+ pages long, and I have to wonder how many pages it would be if the author wrote paragraphs longer than 2 sentences.
Will my desire to know the Big Plot Secret outlast my irritation at the way this book reads like a Bluesky thread? Guess we’ll see!

In The Story & the Engine, the Doctor refutes the Barber's claim to be Anansi, Dionysus, Sága, Bastet and Loki with personal memories of the first four. He leaves out Loki: a hybrid trickster, liar and shapeshifter, normally male but sometimes female, who lives among gods but isn't one of them. Hmm.

It's a great cosmic joke that neurodivergence both runs in families and gets diagnosed based on parent reports. I was diagnosed at 30 because a man who has eaten potatoes every day for 57 years and a woman who collects loose buttons decided I was a perfectly normal child.

Reposted by someone who just realized that the fictional child cannot be older than 6 and therefore her parents are NOT arguing about where she will go to high school. So glad I’m not alone.
I suppose *some* people keep track of "three days later" and "next Wednesday" as they go along like actual competent professionals, and all I can say is, fuck you.
