This weekend , I watched the new #Dracula & #Frankenstein #movies, and to be honest, I enjoyed the Dracula one more. It's clearly the inferior film, but it was done with a real Hammerish feel to it that was just much more fun to watch.

In my opinion, this marks the start of where we Europeans started to realise that - we are stuffed

A year ago no one could have predicted it, but in recent months it was becoming increasingly obvious.

I hope our leaders are ahead of the curve here and have a well-thought-out executable plan??

Final bids on mouse and wrench are £900 & £685 thank you so much to everybody who placed beds. It’s been amazing and exhausting in equal parts. I feel like my brain is cooked but we managed to raise some serious money for some very good courses. Thank you.

The John Doone book&movie title generator:

No man is an island,
Entire of itself, Every man is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.

A Dutch commentator perceptively observed: ‘The British are the only people who look back on WWII with pride and pleasure (‘our finest hour’). Everyone else was either occupier or occupied, and they look back with grief and with a steely determination never to let that happen in Europe again.’

This was the resulting piece. Not for the first time I over estimated the Labour party.
The Home Office cannot be saved
It isn’t just that the Home Office has no respect for human life, as appalling as that is: it simply doesn’t work.

This letter from former Cabinet Secretaries and others is straightforwardly wrong regarding the constitutional role of the House of Lords relative to the role of the Commons. /1
NEW: In a joint letter, senior peers including 3 former cabinet secretaries and 3 former Lords speakers have warned peers not to use procedural manoeuvres to thwart the assisted dying bill.

With 1,100+ amendments tabled, they warn the reputation of Parliament is on the line.
