We have lots of
buddleia dotted about for maximum Butterly joy. Pond is for newts & dragon flies.BEST news is signs there are dormice in our Hazel hedges. Also had a huge grass snake visiting a couple of years ago. Molehills in the orchard & dozens of rabbits! Some days I feel like Snow White!!

My childhood home bought by my parents in 1956. Very Darling Buds of May. My grandparents were born in the 19th Century.Brilliant tree houses, camp fires, ponds & a stream & old potting sheds. In the barn there was huge black diesel generator like the engine on a Russian train.
Benenden Kent
A family gathering. I’m the girl in the turquoise dress who’d rather be up the stream building a dam ! This is the house I grew up in, in 1950s & 60s in the Weald of Kent. No mains electricity or central heating. Built in the 14th Century. Oak beams from ships. Not a level surface anywhere. You could roller skate down our bedroom floor.

And a long run of stone with holes in it, so you could chat to your mates plus a fancy gutter running with freshwater to rinse your sponge on a stick in. Seen one at Ephesus.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Heartfelt agreement. I am keeping my local
Gelateria going single handedly! Plus the Indie cinema. And little independent knick knack shops when all
the tourists have gone.

I cannot stress this strongly enough: Support your local theatre, café, bookstore, bakery, and library. We breathe life into these places when we support them. They need us, and more importantly, we need them.

I'm virtually joining my very good friend @richienb.bsky.social in a glass of Calvados.

The week we have #WorldCalvadosDay and it would be remiss of me not to mark this important date in the calendar...
This is the label on the bottle of my 20 year old, double distilled Calvados. You can just make out the glass on the right of the photo.
