There is absolutely no need to follow me, but if you do, there are things you should know:

1. This account is for stream-of-consciousness, unplanned posts.
2. I'm not here to argue with you.
3. I block frequently. See above.
4. Don't be a dick.
5. Equality for *all*.
6. I'm openly Black.

I see another established cishet guy is releasing his "gay" book in his late 50s *eye roll*. These days it only reminds me how comfortable these authors were with systemic exclusion when it served them.

If you want to help queer folks, buy books by queer authors.

What we need is a big budget Hellboy movie that tackles his wider mythos and escape from his assigned destiny.

The films have hewn too close to the BRPD and monster hunting aspect. I'm not saying that's wrong. I'm saying maybe it's time for the other cosmic aspect.

No more hints. Go all out.

A quick etiquette question for poets (and everybody else): If a person tells you, in conversation, that they're a poet, is it more polite to ask to read their poetry or wait for them to offer?

I'm having big l'esprit de l'escalier about a conversation from yesterday.

Those smiles will live on in my nightmares.

Diary of a Middle Aged Karateka:

You'll find conflicting advice on the efficacy of ankle weights for improving kicks.

Some say the direction of force does not translate to the direction of kicks.

But the Koreans are fans, and Taekwondo has the best and highest kicks. Likewise Tang Soo Do.

Two major factors made Public Enemy's sound better than any other hip-hop act in their time:

1. Most rap songs of the time sampled a maximum of three older songs and beats. Public Enemy sampled and alluded to 10 to 15 different sources.

2. Chuck D's style and flow was absolutely unique.

Universities are assembling larger and larger teams to deal with academic integrity issues--mostly focused on AI--while simultaneously holding AI "writing" contests, AI-themed events, "hey, come play with these fun tools!" The messages are so mixed, it's criminal. Because AI is bloated with money.

Here is Bluesky again, showing me accounts that I do not follow when I didn't ask.

I'm not bored. I just want to know what specific people are talking about. I couldn't care less about celebrities.

(No, do not try to explain this to me. I've heard it all before and it's bullshit)

So, Jesus said there will always be poor people (Matthew 26:11).
He also said (everywhere!) look after the poor.

The fact that there will always be poor people means Christians will always have an obligation to look after them.

Any other view is a form of Christianity that doesn't follow Christ.
