Seeing as we're having a 🌈SUPER GAY DAY🌈, I made a promo post for my profile. All links to independent outlets are in the alt text (or sail the Big River if it suits).

Featuring my British Fantasy Award winning story "Morta" and three shortlisted anthologies.

All gay. All slay. All day. 🏳️‍🌈☠️📚💙
An angel with eviscerated wings and bandages to cover his wounds is the cover for my short story collection Preaching To The Perverted. White feathers drift in the background.

Oh hey, I’m on TWO entire panels - going back to my Grimdark roots and pretending I’m a real life agent and not just three kittens in a cloak.

Really looking forward to seeing clients and meeting loads of lovely new folk 🖤

Jared Leto is an amazing example of how projection and privilege work.

Literally no marginalized actor could ever get away with such a terrible string of starring roles, but since some c-suite losers wish they were him, they keep betting on him.

‘TRON: ARES’ has earned $14.3M in its opening day at the domestic box office.

For comparison, ‘MORBIUS’ opened to $17.3M.

In honor of spooky month, share a 4 word horror story that only someone in your profession would understand

I'll go first: Six page commercial lease.

He was most certainly part of a team. Just pointing out why he probably gets more public attention.

I'm not sure whether it was suicide or not either. But I am about his prosecution for "homosexual acts", and the "chemical castration", which basically amounts to government torture.

And I'm sure he was a nice man.

Turing's tragedy adds to his iconic status, I think. He was a gay man in a time when it wasn't legal to be so fighting to save his country, which hated who he was enough to overlook his heroism and destroy him.

But I agree that others deserve praise as well.

"Reject and pay" sounds like a good thing to add to story submission emails.

Well, they'll have to put it to the vote and all member states will have to agree. Which they won't, so
jamesbennett.bsky.social
Hell no.

Can't see member states allowing this, personally. Particularly not Spain.

The EU-Commission wants to negotiate a very sensitive agreement that would allow US authorities direct (!) access to police-stored fingerprints & facial images in Europe.
Potentially, all travelers could be affected by this #EBSP – and people in need for protection.

Zeus was the randiest, surely.

Phew. 2K words down this morning and the end of chapter 3. Didn't even notice the time passing. The "telling yourself the story" part is always fun, I think. 📚💙

It was superseded by the Matrix films, I think. Which it now seeks to ape, and poorly.

Tale as old as time: Listening to those in positions of influence speak with authority on matters they have no knowledge or experience of.

Kudos that man for calling it out.

Coming out isn't a one and done event either. I come out all the time. Every new job. Meeting new ppl. Occasionally choosing not to.
It's a fact of queer life.

Remember that everyone who's out wasn't once too.

We get it. Better than anyone. Trust. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Police certificate finally arrived. Putting the pieces together for permanent residency. Happy to say I haven't committed any crimes in Spain in the past 5 years.

Can you believe it?

Website tinkered with and blog linked.

To inaugurate the site, I've uploaded a brand-new queer horror story called "Gravebourne", which has been hitherto unpublished (click on 'blog' if you so fancy).

Gracias! 📚💙🏳️‍🌈☠️
