FUZZ FOR THE FUZZ GOD
RIFFS FOR THE RIFF THRONE

I get mad at the world, paint tiny spacemen and make a heavy metal racket in WARPSTORMER.
On the one hand it’s very funny that reactionaries will be like “we need to bring back REAL MEN” while simultaneously being like “please believe I am a scared little bitch who gets an attack of the vapours over the acknowledgment of the existence of gay ppl”, on the other…
A bank customer who claimed he has a “phobia” of materials related to Pride has lost a case against NatWest in which he alleged a display in one of its branches caused him “severe psychological distress”.

Lmao that they have spent five years burning effigies of Jeremy Corbyn and getting union flag tattoos and they are STILL dismissed as being stuck in 1970s socialism.

so anyone who has like an ounce of experience with the outdoors knows bamboo actually burns really poorly. Also anyone who has been following this and isn't a racist freak knows this was almost certainly an issue of the cladding like Grenfell was but I know that doesn't get the weird sinophobia hit!

Shockingly, our local greengrocer doesn’t label his trees as ‘Christmas’. Which maybe because he is a woke Tibetan intent on destroying our sacred traditions, or possibly because no-one needs it explaining to them why there’s suddenly a pile of fir trees outside his shop at the end of November.
Social media posts have claimed that Tesco is not celebrating Christmas, because it has described one of its trees as an “evergreen” tree.

This is misleading—the retailer sells other artificial trees labelled as Christmas trees.
Tesco hasn’t rebranded all its Christmas trees to ‘evergreen trees’ – Full Fact
Claims that Tesco is not celebrating Christmas because it is selling an “evergreen” tree are missing context.

The "don't have an extra kid if you can't afford it" brigade get awfully upset when you suggest they don't stay in their £2m house if they can't afford it, don't they?

It’s a horrible argument, file it with “you’ll get more right-wing when you get older” under “nah cos actually I’m not a selfish sack of shit”
People used to smugly declare “once you own you’ll feel differently” and nah it radicalised me even more, actually.

And I’m saying this when my mortgage went up about £250 last year. It sucked but at least I’m not worrying I’ll be served an eviction notice every year.
This house tax pretending is making me more insane than usual because as a renter I’ve had to move every 1-3 years just as standard because rents always rise. And no one cares. House owners get a tiny fraction of that precarity and suddenly it’s the worst thing that’s ever happened

My mortgage for a two-bedroom terraced house with cellar and attic is £50 a month less now than I was paying as a renter for a one-bedroom flat literally across the road, twelve years ago, and one day I'll have paid off the mortgage. Homeowners complaining about anything is as entitled as motorists.

Taxes are pretty much the only thing related to personal/family finance they do this little "what if that made someone's life difficult" dance for.

Benefits cut to the bone? Not interested
Wages eroded by inflation for decades and decades? Nope.
Technology abolished your job? Nope.

let the 'i never asked for my house value to go up! 🥺' people opt out of the mansion tax by handing over the difference between what they paid & what it's worth when it changes hands down the line. it's clear they are suffering & the increase in value is a burden on them. something must be done

All of this “woe is me my house is now really expensive and so a tax is unfair” stuff completely negates to acknowledge the implicit fact that the house owner has made an insane profit by doing absolutely nothing
Mumsnet is already on the case.

Oh shit this is a big one. Still holding out for the Allo Allo one.
We are now further away from the theatrical release of Raiders of the Lost Ark (June 12, 1981) than it was from the year it takes place in (1936). We have reached the Indiana Jones event horizon.

If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.
