Yes it’s Valentine’s Day. But it’s also the chosen birthday of Frederick Douglass who was born in 1818 on a plantation in Talbot County, Maryland. He escaped from slavery & rose to become the most eloquent and forceful voice for the abolition of slavery & for Black voting rights in the U.S.

I genuinely think boycotting the World Cup is some of the strongest leverage the Europeans have.
A German soccer federation executive committee member says it's time to consider a World Cup boycott because of the actions of U.S. President Donald Trump.

The public library is one of humanity's greatest inventions and I am convinced that frequenting them is good for the soul of a citizen. A public realm where goods are exchanged with no money trading hands is spiritually cleansing.

You can be the safest, most attentive driver in the world and still pose a massive risk to other road users. That’s because cars and car dependency are inherently dangerous.
This doesn’t mean you’re a bad person if you drive, but I do think that drivers should acknowledge their role in this system.
