Two babies were born in New York within a year of each other, soon after WWII.

One, Rob Reiner, lived a life of humanity and achievement. He brought us delight and joy. His memory will be a blessing.

The other, Donald Trump, will be remembered as an embarrassment to our nation.

It’s been a particularly heavy start to Hanukkah this year.

May the memories of those who were killed be a blessing.

May we keep in our minds the suffering of those injured.

And may we share our prayers with their families and the Jewish community in Australia.

Wow, this 🔥

“Corporations that have paid to help him demolish the East Wing … Law firms that capitulated are now doing work for the Donald Trump Commerce Department… Bezos, who stood shoulder to shoulder with Donald Trump… No one has said anything about the character of this person today.”

I tend to agree with those in the comments and quotes about Rob’s movies being beloved regardless of party.

That’s what many conservatives like Laura Ingraham, Megyn Kelly, etc led with when they talked about him.

From All in the Family to Stand By Me etc.
I don’t know what it is about the Rob Reiner situation in particular, but I’ve never seen one of these Trump posts draw as much criticism and condemnation from MAGA/conservative folks as this one has.

Not suggesting he’s losing his coalition or praising them, it’s just interesting that this was it.

Rob Reiner either made your favorite movie, or made somebody you know’s favorite movie. If you’re a Californian, he’s also part of the reason you or your friends can get married. He has changed more lives for the better than this asshole commenting on him ever did.

And people support him.

It’s hard to believe this is our actual life.

And yes, this is a real post.

Brown U., my alma mater, has been called "the Happy Ivy" by some because of the lifelong feeling of community it fosters. Saturday's mass shooting was another reminder that in a nation with 500 million guns, violence is eventually going to hit home

This is what happens when the FBI is run by two right-wing conspiracy theorist podcasters who spent the last 11 months purging almost anyone with institutional knowledge from the bureau. They're going to keep fucking this kind of thing up.

can we all agree to take it easy on ourselves tomorrow?

we are humans with hearts and souls and it's unnatural to soldier on as if we're unaffected
we are not meant to endure this much horrific news in a lifetime let alone a weekend

I don’t know how to process the horrific fire hose of tragedy that has been omnipresent but has spiked this weekend, and I suspect I’m not alone. We aren’t meant to carry this much suffering and be able to function at “normal” capacity. Be gentle with yourself and others, if you can.

I truly feel for everyone dealing with the Brown investigation. We have capable and transparent police and investigators in Rhode Island who are clearly working their asses off to get answers. They have to deal with a clown show of an FBI.

I have introduced or support several pieces of legislation to protect our communities, provide safe firearm storage and to limit rounds to prevent mass shootings. Let’s work together and get it done.

A mass shooting at my alma mater Brown University hit hard, proving no community is safe from senseless violence in a land with more guns than people

Trump added insult to injury by claiming there is "nothing you can do." We can do a lot about guns
