After two agonizing years, the war is over and the living hostages are home.

Needed aid is entering the Gaza Strip and the deceased are being returned for proper burials, including two Americans.

America’s role in the world makes a difference. Thank you to those who made it happen.

On October 7, 2023, more than one thousand Israelis, and several Americans, were brutally murdered or taken hostage by Hamas terrorists.

We must never forget. Today, let us recommit to peace and, once for all, bring the remaining hostages home.

I was honored to attend the christening of the USS Louis H. Wilson, Jr. this weekend, a flight-three destroyer built by the hardworking men and women at Bath Iron Works. Maine continues to lead the way in helping our military keep us safe at home and abroad.

Today is National Public Lands Day, a day for Maine people and folks across the country to celebrate America’s natural heritage and reaffirm our role as stewards of these lands for future generations.

Admission is FREE to all national parks today — get out there and enjoy them!

This administration’s ‘ready, fire, aim’ approach to cutting programs like Veterans Upward Bound is dangerous. That's why the entire Maine delegation is urging the Education Secretary to make it easier for veterans to access education, not harder.
Trump administration cancels USM college program for veterans
Veterans Upward Bound helps Maine vets go to college, but the U.S. Department of Education is cutting its funding, saying the program 'conflicts' with its priorities.

Steamed, boiled or on a buttered roll, there’s no wrong way to enjoy Maine lobster! On National Lobster Day, we recognize the cultural, environmental and economic importance of the iconic crustacean — and the men and women who power the fishery every day. 🦞🦞🦞

Shoemaking is about as quintessentially Maine as lobster or blueberries. I was proud to attend the opening of New Balance’s factory expansion in Skowhegan — a $65 million investment and testament to the skilled and dedicated workers across the state.

Thousands of Maine people rely on paper checks for Social Security, veterans benefits or tax refunds. We need a thoughtful transition, not a financial disruption. I’m urging the Administration to delay this change and protect all who rely on paper checks.
Maine delegation urges delay of federal ban on paper checks
The lawmakers warn that the plan, set to take effect Sept. 30, could disproportionately affect older and rural Americans.

Secretary Kennedy preaches "radical transparency,” but blocking public input on our health policy doesn’t feel transparent — it feels dangerous.

This is a threat to public health and Congress needs to hold him accountable.

Only Congress holds the authority to change the name of federal departments. Full stop.

America hasn’t had a “Department of War” since WWII. If you're talking about having been nominated to work for the Department of War, you're 78 years too late.

"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

The National Falls Prevention Action plan from the @ncoaging.bsky.social will help older Americans reduce falls around the house that can be avoided by cost-effective investments to keep them healthy and standing strong!

Had fun visiting with @laurengreennn.bsky.social to share some classic Maine fashion tips, as well as discuss the *tie* that binds our nation — the Constitution.

On Constitution Day, may we recognize this roadmap of American democracy and recommit to working toward a 'more perfect union.'

Our national parks are “America’s Best Idea.” Senator Steve Daines and I are working to protect them through the America the Beautiful Act so future generations can explore and enjoy their beauty, too. It’s time to invest in our public lands.

Hardworking Maine people shouldn’t pay more taxes than a billion-dollar company. The corporate alternative minimum tax was put in place to ensure the wealthiest corporations pay their fair share. This law should be strongly enforced, not weakened.

24 years ago, the September 11th terrorist attacks claimed nearly 3,000 innocent lives. Today, we honor the brave men and women we lost that day, as well as in the aftermath. As we reflect on this solemn anniversary, let's recommit to standing together in support of our democracy.

Political violence goes against the democratic values of our nation. This isn't about Democrats and Republicans. It's about protecting the ideals in our Constitution to peacefully assemble and exchange ideas. We can challenge each other's views without violence. It’s common sense.

Cyberthreats on are the rise as bad actors constantly look to exploit our digital weaknesses. In a Politico Live conversation with Rosie Perper, I made clear the risks of rolling back our cybersecurity efforts and why we need to fully commit to a national cyber deterrence strategy.

Quality customer service shouldn't just be a private sector mindset; that's why I introduced the Improving Veteran’s Experience Act. Now that this law has passed and been signed into law, the VA will be better positioned to deliver top-notch service and support to our veterans.

On Labor Day, we take a moment to honor the dignity of hardworking men and women across Maine and our country. As we celebrate with friends and family, let's remember those who helped build America, as well as the workforce of today striving for a stronger, more prosperous nation.

I often hear from Maine people about how workforce development, health care & cybersecurity are challenging their communities. The new Capital Center at the University of Maine at Augusta is a powerful example of what happens when we invest in innovation & work together to meet 21st century needs.

Housing shortages in Maine and America are holding back growth and contributing to a higher cost-of living. I’m dedicated to finding creative, bipartisan solutions and prepared to work with anyone on either side of the aisle to address this critical need.

Nearly 370K Maine people rely on Social Security, and millions nationwide. Since FDR signed it into law 90 years ago, these earned benefits have supported seniors, families and those with disabilities. I will work with any of my colleagues to protect this promise to Americans.

Pulling $62 million in congressionally-appropriated funding out from under the rug for Maine's 'Solar For All' program will ramp up energy costs for low-income Maine people and set us back in our goal for a more sustainable future. It's illegal, dumb and harmful.
Trump administration moves forward with clawing back $62 million in low-income solar grants for Maine
The Governor's Energy Office said Friday that it had received a termination letter from the Environmental Protection Agency for funding it had promised last year.
