Just because one party is made up of fascists does not absolve us of the responsibility to hold the other party accountable for its inaction, neglect, dismissiveness, or lack of courage and strategy. That means holding Democrats accountable.
Just a reminder: Someone hired to work alongside US military and CIA personnel in Afghanistan is NOT someone who would have been considered a criminal or security risk.
Without excusing anything, it's very possible that either Biden or Trump admin actions against Afghanis fed into violent anger.

It's more than slightly ironic that, in the midst of a nationalistic Nazi movement in this country that demonizes immigrants, we are celebrating the holiday in which the original colonists came here to steal land. IOW, us, the people who now want to demonize everyone else.

Did you ever ask yourself why so many privileged people in this country look down on the hardest workers doing the most essential jobs? And ALL of these require PROFESSIONAL, learned expertise. Agricultural workers; food service workers, public health workers, social workers, childcare workers….

I give thanks every day to the people who work in the fields and the food industry. They work tirelessly and rarely get either the wages or the security THEY DESERVE. And that is not okay with me any day.
Of the roughly 2.4m farmworkers who help feed our nation, at least half are undoc. Meatpacking plants similarly rely on foreign-born labor, w/immigrants making up nearly 40% of meat processing workers. “Our Thanksgiving celebrations simply couldn’t happen without their labor and contributions.”
From delicious side dishes like green beans and corn, to main courses like turkey with gravy or roasted ham, to desserts like pumpkin pie served with a healthy dollop of whipped cream, these essential workers labored in fields, orchards, dairy farms, and factories to feed us 👇🏽

My first thought was whether he is one of the many Afghanis whose lives were left in shambles when, after being put in danger working for the USG, we abruptly denied him and/or his family the asylum they were long promised and left them to the Taliban.
