Teach a man who hates socialism and votes for authoritarianism to farm and he can receive socialist handouts for life from the government that bankrupted him in the first place.

The hoax, by numbers.
US now has:

1. Record $18.6 trillion in household debt
2. Record $13.1 trillion in mortgages
3. Record $1.7 trillion in auto loans
4. Record $1.7 trillion in student loans
5. Record $1.2 trillion in credit card debt

Even worse? 33% of Americans now have more credit card debt than emergency savings

What a dope.
it’s pretty funny that Duffy is simultaneously

1. scolding passengers for not wearing fancy clothes while flying

2. supporting airport gyms so passengers can be sweaty and gross while flying

both of these proposals are idiotic but the direct contradiction is next level
Duffy on what he's doing to improve the airport experience for travelers: "Maybe I want a workout area where people might get some blood flowing doing some pull ups or step ups in the airport."

This is so dark
The 81-year-old, second-richest man on earth, calls up president directly and demands that he be allowed to use $100 billion including capital from world’s most repressive regimes and Trump’s son-in-law to conquer a massive entertainment and news complex to preserve “competition“
Dad got involved:

“.. Larry Ellison, a Trump ally, called the president after the Netflix deal was announced and told him the transaction would hurt competition ..”

JUST IN: Mike Johnson plans to swear in Rep.-elect Matt Van Epps on Thursday — less than two days after he won the TN-07 special election.

As a reminder, it took Johnson 50 days to swear in Democratic Rep. Adelita Grijalva.

Same here.

Complex thinking requires clear writing.
this is my #1 advice to grad students: anyone can reproduce jargon; the bigger flex is being able to make the argument in straightforward prose. clarity is indicative of deep thought and engagement. even chatGPT can write word salad.
i strongly, strongly believe that good writing is downstream of clear thinking and a strong understanding of the subject matter at hand. without fail, tortured writing comes from writers who don’t know and can’t think clearly about anything.

My undying admiration will go to any reporter who brings up all the evidence of former Honduras President Hernandez's crimes running drugs, and reminds that he was convicted by a jury, and ask Trump how he can claim to be tackling the drug problem while letting such a large trafficker go free.

The president is a political cartoon of corruption come to life, a gaudy grifter who is selling off pardons and lining his pockets, building a golden ballroom and protecting his fellow sex predator elites, all the while regular Americans are suffering and struggling to make ends meet.

At the Civil Rights Museum today, I heard this musical rebuke to Richard Nixon written by Stevie Wonder.

I was struck by how much the words also apply to Trump.

The Boston Globe identified the companies in Massachusetts that employ the most SNAP recipients. A key stat: "In Massachusetts, 74% of working-age recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program are employed, half of them full-time."

Wishing the injured National Guard a full recovery. No one signs up to be used as political pawns.

Nov 20 - a judge ruled Trump’s deployment was illegal. The court blocked him from sending troops into the District, with a 21 day pause for appeal.

Bottom line: the Guard shouldn’t have been in DC.

Don’t forget that *Trump’s own lawyer’s argument* to the Supreme Court in the immunity case was that the check on the President using his immunity to order criminal acts was that those under him would not follow illegal orders. Now it’s a crime for lawmakers to remind servicemembers of that?
The President doesn't want you standing up and speaking out against him, so he's coming after me to intimidate all of us.

But I won't back down — and neither should you.

40 years ago economy was the shit. You got: free meals, liquor, more cabin room, blanket and pillow and proper cutlery. Air travel used to be fun and exciting
This. A million bajillion percent

30 years ago you’d get a complimentary meal and free checked baggage

Today they charge you $20 for a sandwich and $50 more for your carry on

Worse: the airlines let the terrorists win
Give us back first class service throught the cabin and people will dress up.

One time someone broke into my car, stole all of my change, a pair of basketball shoes, and not a single one of the CDs that they had pulled out my CD booklet and thrown around my backseat in what I assume was angry disappointment. Still messes with me.
Yes I’d feel a way if the driver thought my stuff wasn’t fly enough to steal.
This reminds me of the winter right after I moved into my house (closed in August, moved in right before October).

The FedEx and UPS drivers were opening boxes to decide if they wanted to steal your shit. One of my packages got delivered completely pried open.
