Trying to cast on for a lace blanket, circular, to be knitted in the round. Starts with 8 stitches. Actually, starts with the needles falling out of the 8 stitches several times before I manage to move on... #Knitting

Yeah, so I put Snake Eater by @tkingfisher.com on my non-kindle-ereader (bookshop.org ebook). Opened it to check it worked OK. 21% later and I am invested now!

Now I have my library book app tablet set up right (also does wont-work-on-kindle ebooks) it appears that if, like me, your library is subscribed to two (2) different ebook services (libby and borrowbox in this case), you can take your full book limit from each one. So, that's a thing oops.

I'm planning on doing more hand sewing in 2026, starting with this old shirt cast off by my Uni Student child which I wear for messy tasks, and will fix the tear and remove the sleeve strap things which are badly positioned and annoying! The strap fabric will be used to mend the tear :) #Sewing

Today, I have bought ebooks directly from three different authors, and seen that my next ebook purchase is on bookshop.org for when I'm ready for it. I feel that I get books to hide in, and the authors get a bigger percentage of my money. We all win!

I have a selection of cheap, pretty earrings which I leave on their cards (think Claire's multipack level) which appeal to my magpie approach to jewellery. I really need to figure out a better way of storing them because sometimes I will find a sad, lone earring back with no idea where it belongs...

Now I've finished all my knitting for other people, I can focus on things for me, including my St Bees Shawl in a gradient yarn. Note the lifelines in the lace section, proof that I cannot trust myself to reliably count to 9!

It's frosty enough that I've dug out for the once or twice a yearly wear my 100% wool twinset I knitted many years ago. It is kind of itchy but also gloriously warm. So warm, it has to be exceedingly cold before I can wear it without melting.

The thing about getting recurrent eye infections is you know when something is out of the normal. Just been to the walk in centre to get someone medical to look at my eye, because it's not the normal. Bit of a wait, but now I have medication, reassurance, and a treatment plan :)
