The AP scene is riddled with “GMs who do not understand how to run a show” and the tell tale sign is always in casting methods and editing

Why yes you DO need to always cast people of color and yes you SHOULD care WHO is at your table!

I spend a lot of time meticulously planning casts and vetting not just for safety but for play style so when I see some fuck ass post about “not caring who’s in my cast as long as they’re having fun” my blood pressure goes up a little bit lol

something I think is underdiscussed about employment/capitalism discourse is that abusive/bad labor/management practices are probably more common in nonprofits and trendy organizations that people on the left are likely to work for than big boring office companies

"average person commits 3 heresies a year" factoid actualy just statistical error. average person commits 0 heresies per year. American Evangelical Georg, who lives in cave & commits over 10,000 each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted
She compares the boat strikes to Jesus breaking the sabbath to heal someone.

Titanic became the biggest movie in the world, and the lesson Hollywood learned wasn’t “appeal to women” but “people love old boats sinking” and made Pearl Harbor.
Women even told them, repeatedly! Even men told them! The CEO class ate too many paint chips as children.
I can’t get over how Barbie succeeded because it offered tangible ways for women and girls to celebrate each other (and dress up and go to the movies together) but studios thought it worked because it’s about toys so now they’re making like Bananagrams the movie

As happens every year, there were a few I forgot to add because time is fake and my memory is fleeting

So there’s a few more added on now. This is a living list, really
With 2025 winding down, all the award shows and webfests behind us, and people sharing their end of year lists; I thought I'd share my favorite pieces of AP from this past year

While 2025 was...a lot, I found solace in wonderful stories and beautiful friends making great art

Let's go!

Look at this great thread of how you can contribute to the publisher process of TTRPGs while making actual plays. If you are a designer and haven't responded to this yet please do!
Starting to plan a new show for next year, and I have a question for #TTRPG designers - what's something that you love to see from someone who runs an AP of your game/what are some things that AP runners do that you feel support you as a game designer?

✉️🐕 Free Dog Postcards! ✉️🐕

I've sent out hundreds of postcards over the years, but this one is special.

My goal is to send out 300 postcards in honor of my pup, Belle, sharing a piece of the joy she brought me.

This is exceptionally high praise given that we've only dropped 3 eps.

Go devour the whole thread. Grant has his finger on the pulse of good AP taste.
The Misfortunate 4 @uepodca.st

I might like westerns. Another great one because this balances genuine laughs with impactful drama. Pat's a real wizard in the GM seat and perfectly understands which nobs to twist at what moments.

Not to mention how well they're managing a HUGE cast, holy smokes

There are so many projects on this list you're sure to find something for you, and if nothing else read Grant's insights into each project as he notes what shines about them brillantly.
Shout out as always to Game Master Monday and their work in the space for highlighting and uplifting others
