I think part of the reason non-monogamy is so prevalent in TTRPG spaces is once you have to regularly schedule five adults to be in the same room at the same time, the idea of working around multiple people's schedules where they don't all have to intersect is way less intimidating.

This word fucked me up as a kid
“Metrosexual” popped into my head completely unprompted the other day, and I just had to sit and remember that for a minute
One time I genuinely heard someone say that people were less homophobic in the 2000s and I was like "we had to invent an entire separate word to describe straight men who gave a shit about their appearance to let people know they weren't gay." Not to mention all the, you know, actual hate crimes.
