The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

perhaps "abolish" has been thrown around a lot as a word because "do that one scene from fargo to them" has too many characters. who's to say.

What about the ICE BUCKET, Chuck
NEW: In this interview, Chuck Schumer describes the "five buckets" Dems think are key to their possibly winning a Senate majority in 2026: housing, "the high price of food [and] food monopolies playing a major role there," electricity, "the high cost of childcare," and health care.
Zero Chucks Left to Give
Chuck Schumer now sees a path back to the majority. Can he manage his way through it?

Like I'm not saying this is just the supplier unexpectedly asking for more money for no reason and they're trying to pass it off as "onshoring", but I don't know how it would look any different than these press releases if it was -- like maybe they could give the actual details?

looking back at now once again trump loyalists statements on jan 6 is crazy because it really illustrates how they’ve managed to sanitize what everyone knew was going on. the jan 6ers were ultimately successful it seems

The United States is behaving like a rogue state. The President has carried out an illegal act of war, kidnapped a foreign head of state, and is now threatening military action against NATO allies. This is a constitutional crisis.

Impeachment must be on the table.

This is what people don't understand about LA. This place is all about cars, sure, but most people sit in bumper to bumper traffic and don't actually know how to drive. Then you add rain and oil and it's like Spy Hunter out there
Also that first rain after a very long drought when all the oil pools up on the freeway, this is not the day to be on the freeway.
