Happy Thanksgiving. I'm grateful, truly, to be working this morning while the streets are sill silent, chuckling at a note I wrote during a meeting with my editor:

Don’t say its all rigged and you should jump off the bridge.

We are now further away from the theatrical release of Raiders of the Lost Ark (June 12, 1981) than it was from the year it takes place in (1936). We have reached the Indiana Jones event horizon.

I would actually love an economist’s take on why the ready-to-eat sandwich market is basically nonexistent in the US.

This is true and deeply shameful for my country
it is very strange to me that Americans just cannot do packaged, relatively cheap sandwiches. they're fucking awful here. (handmade sandwiches are often great, but, like, the £2.75 Tesco's 'good but not great' sandwich is a missing piece)
It is a huge problem to me that sandwiches in the US are both delicious and stupidly expensive.

There are days I miss a prawn mayo or tuna sandwich meal deal from Boots or WH Smith.

I know it doesn’t sound like the most glowing endorsement when I tell you that #RecipeOfTheDay – a dish of sweet potatoes with marshmallows – tastes so much better than you’d think, but I make this statement with my fellow non-Americans in mind! 🧡HAPPY THANKSGIVING🧡 www.nigella.com/recipes/swee...

#JingleBellHeist was wonderful as a #Heist #RomCom #ChristmadMovie all in one. It meandered a bit but the leads were strong, good supporting cast with adorable little girl. Roomate could have had better lines. Great twists kept things interesting until end!! Fiona's rating 4/5 Christmas Crackers
Went with #JingleBellHeist on @netflix.com then mum picked up the remote & started changing channels randomly saying she'd seen it, which of course she hadnt. #Eldercare

The sidewalks are in bad shape out there

It seems a lot of people are either out of town or didn’t think this was enough to shovel. These slick sidewalks are going to be rough for anyone trying to roll over them tomorrow.
