A game master, voracious bookworm and cinephile, a tired socialist and a manic depressive chocolate salesperson from Montreal. They/them. 33.
If anyone ever described my art that way, I’d walk into the sea.
Kinda crazy to bring Gans out of retirement for what is spiritually a live action Disney remake complete with Blumhouse sheen

It really does feel like they're embarrassed by the edgy arthouse vibes of the original and want to distance themselves as far from it as possible. Replace it with this slick hi-def big budget blockbuster.

... Boy, kinda feels like Konami's really rubbing it in our faces, eh?

"You'll never have the original, but, hey, why not settle for a glossy remake and an airbrushed instagram cosplay photoshoot?"

It is genuinely fascinating to see friends on multiple Discord servers, and on bsky in general, split down the middle about Dispatch. Some takes have been pretty measured ("Not a fan of its workcom vibe, I got enough of that from the MCU"), others, I feel, wildly disproportionate-

"It's AI drivel."

BEHOLD

My new library set up! I dragged my balcony chair inside and my parents offered this carpet they otherwise would’ve thrown away.

Combine that together, and you have a cozy lil’ reading nook, eh? What do you think?

… should the carpet be more horizontal?

I posit that Ichi the Killer is to Crying Freeman what Nic Cage in The Vampire’s Kiss is to Christian Bale’s Patrick Bateman. Like the weird, uncomfortable, pathetic version of basically the same archetype of character.

I'm realizing I am... a very emotional person.
Disco Elysium. Spiritfarer. Silent Hill 2 & 3. Journey. Kingdom Hearts 2. Final Fantasy IX. Pentiment. Shadow of the Colossus. Undertale. Unsighted. MGS4. Pathologic 2. Papers, Please.
There video games that made you cry (but not out of frustration or anything like that)

Who doesn't love ceremonial processions through the woods at night?
I'm a sucker for gel lighting. And ceremonial processions.

Not normally someone who plays those sort of games, but @strangelibrary.com convinced me to put Idol Manager on my wishlist.
Best business/management game?

In order:
• I used to fantasize about that sort of thing... now I think, "Boy, I think games are too good for live-action adaptations."
• That's incredibly specific, I can't think of anything that comes to mind.
• I don't really read tie-in novels.
What's a game that you would think would benefit from a live action adaptation
And what's your favorite book adapted into a game before it was made into a movie
What's your favorited video game tie in novel.

So, so, so many horror novels with a strong start... and a terrible finish.

It's on my Wishlist!
Have you heard of a game called Caves of Qud? It's basically an open world Rogue and has a really cool science fantasy thing going on

In order:

I'd pay good money for an adaptation of P. Djeli Clark's Ring Shout, with Ryan Coogler at the helm (or, at least, as executive producer).

... they should never, ever, adapt House of Leaves.

Star Fox.

Leisure Suit Larry.
Literature: which book do you think should be adapted into a film, and which book do you think should never be adapted into a film
Video Games: Which series deserves a comeback and which series should stay buried.

All my yay, I've a very strong fondness for that aesthetic.
20s/30s pulp, yea or nay?

Is it clichéd to say I adore Victor Hugo? Even with his long-winded spiels about the Parisian sewer system?

Also a big fan of Dumas's Count of Monte Cristo and The Three Musketeers...

And, of course, I grew up with Jules Verne novels. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea? Fucking a.
Favourite French or French Language novel?

Furries, do NOT buy this game if it is using any of that generative ai BS. Even if it is "just a little". This is how they slowly add it in and make it more accepted, and they WANT that. THAT is their plan.
