A game master, voracious bookworm and cinephile, a tired socialist and a manic depressive chocolate salesperson from Montreal. They/them. 33.
I just realized-

RFJ Jr looks like a missing puppet from Genesis's Land of Confusion music video.

Which looks better, right or left?

I was kinda thinking it’d be cozier for Terry this way, like so:

BEHOLD

My new library set up! I dragged my balcony chair inside and my parents offered this carpet they otherwise would’ve thrown away.

Combine that together, and you have a cozy lil’ reading nook, eh? What do you think?

… should the carpet be more horizontal?

Right? I think it's positively wonderful.

Growing up, my model of an adventuring party wasn't the Fellowship, it was AVALANCHE.

I'm not even just talking about Fabula Ultima or this Twilight Sword, and I'm not knocking it.

I just think it's worth noting.

... Boy, Dickens is the worst example to pick here.

"Dickens's world is too far removed from modern experience."

What, you mean the world of enormous wealth disparity, the industrialization of human life begetting generational suffering, the young forced to scavenge on the fringes of society...

Whenever I think some people say "this is the most peaceful era in human history," I can't help but think-

"At best, it's an unjust peace, bought with the blood and suffering of others."

Wait, what's this totally irrelevant screenshot of Patlabor 2 doing here-?!

The kind of childish, absolutist, black-and-white (ha) logic here is eerily reminiscent of Rorschach in Watchmen–as a child–writing about the moral righteousness of dropping nukes on Japan.

Je- *Jesus Christ,* man.

Liberal racism isn't examined enough, I suspect.

I have such wonderful moots, I must say.

I need this injected into my eyeballs.
November 21, 2025 at 1:18 PM
… I *need* to get my hands on this.

Recently, I read "Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees," a graphic murder mystery... set in the world heavily inspired by Richard Scarry's children's picture books.

Then?

Ed Brubaker's Houses of the Unholy, a terrific religious horror story about memory, reality and lingering scars.

What an... absolutely bizarre response to my saying, "Hey, treating art like it only matters if it's hip and current is pretty culturally corrosive."

Perusing through this account's tl, I'm halfway convinced it's a bot.

Before I went to bed last night, on a random whim, I opted to try out a game Dorian had told me about:

“Sultan’s Game.”

A card game-based RPG, in a similar fashion to something like Cultist Simulator, but for a dark fantasy twist on 1001 Arabian Nights.

… and boy, it’s wonderfully fucked up!

These past four months have done quite a bit to close over… some of the gaping holes in my heart, after Pratchett, Kafka and Morrison died.

Reckon we just truly needed each other, and met at the right time, in hindsight.

This is my boy. My anxious, neurotic-as-hell, but sweet boy.

Sure, before I even consider taking Terry on a proper hiking trail, we should start small. Maybe walks around Mt. Royale, and there's a nice little nature park here in the city called Île de la Visitation, the latter of which receives less traffic during the winter season.

Perfect for my...

... You know, next year? After all the training with Terry?

I'd like to take him to Mont Sutton, here in Quebec.

I think a hound dog like him would appreciate veritable cornucopia of fresh scents, eh? Get out of the city awhile?

I see this... and I'm suddenly reminded of the time MC Hammer produced a cartoon about a superhero version of himself with magic shoes.

The 90s were a hell of a drug.

Oh, wait, hold on, my mistake-
November 19, 2025 at 4:44 PM
Hell, one of my favourite monster movies, Dragonslayer, used early CG to smoothen the stop-motion animation of their dragon puppet, to make it more "lifelike."

And it worked!

There *can* be a beautiful meeting point between the tactility of old techniques and the facilitation of new tech.
