The Yiddish name Perl (“Pearl”) is pronounced almost exactly like the English word “peril” and if I was writing pulpy Yiddish adventure books in the 1930s I would have really taken advantage of that

The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them

A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.

I know things are bad, but I was honestly somehow surprised to see that the books of the racist, fascist Arktos Press are available free with a Kindle Unlimited subscription

"The Blackening of Europe", for example

If Stranger Things' story had kept pace with the production, its last season would be taking place in 1992.

An old favorite for this time of year when a few adventurous souls versed in the cooking arts come together to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Jack Crane illustrated the cover for Dragon's November '82 issue showing what happens when a poor turkey (and the table) experiences the majesty of a critical hit!

Rewatched the original Star Wars (A New Hope) today.

Obviously 'I love Star Wars' is baked in, but if you've not watched it in a while you can easily forget that the back half of that movie is some of the most genuinely thrilling stuff on film, back to back.

1977 must not have known what hit it.

oh thinking of yet another movie list...."The 70's Becoming The 80's." Early 80's movies that illustrate the transition between the two decades. Off the top of the head examples: 48 HOURS and FIRST BLOOD.

This is an actual movie!

And, honestly, it's a gas! Herzog engaging in a meta-parody of his own filmography, tricked by Zak Penn to film a cheap and salacious monster hunting movie... with a real (?) monster lurking in the background, beneath the surface.
