A constant churn of purging and back-stabbing within the ranks of the fascists is to be expected. Even violence. Hell, until I read that Politico article I almost forgot that Musk had a literal black eye on the day he was forced out.

Some outlets are reporting that DOGE "doesn't exist" anymore. But the fine print on that overturns the whole story: DOGE is just dropping its tarnished brand, not the chainsaw. 🧵

god I would kill for this kind of quality brick action, not a broken mass to be found and one (1) single cladding
Pretty weird how England and Wales went from allow single-stair double-loaded corridor buildings (11 units per floor??), with no height limit on single-stair generally, to the second-strictest strictest single-stair rules in Europe, with no stop anywhere along the way divisare.com/projects/442...

I have a brilliant idea on how to counter Russia and China. We could focus on building up our partners in Asia and the ongoing conventional fucking war in Europe instead of a pointless war in South America.

Someone make me a senior fellow. This shit's easy as hell.
Cracks me up how you could just replace Venezuela and Venezuelans with Iraq and Iraqis and it’d be indistinguishable from something written in 2002

What’s depressing isn’t the higher levels of federal expenditures & DOGE’s failure—it’s that the feds replaced expenditures on foreign assistance, research & the environment with spending on ICE personnel & national guard deployments.

Meanwhile, the rich got tax cuts so the deficit worsened.

Do you see this Brett Kavanaugh
Trump's domestic Gestapo raided a job site, then handcuffed a US citizen born in Raleigh NC -- even after being shown the guy's REAL ID, which is only available to US citizens and LPRs

CBP+ICE will ignore your identifying documents when it suits their racism

Once again, I remind you that this woman cannot be allowed anywhere near the strategy or leadership of the Democratic Party:

Also, stop it with this BS. Biden correctly said the economy in 2024 was good, because it was. Yes, no one believed it. That wasn't his fault.
Slotkin: "He's trying to distract us from the big stories of last week, the Epstein files and economy. He's tweeting 'the economy is the best it's ever been' -- amazing considering the public isn't stupid. It reminded me of Joe Biden. Biden tried to tell us for a year that the economy was great."

I once knew a Federal bank examiner, and one time someone asked him why we had to KEEP inspecting banks over and over. He basically said every new batch of business school grads invents bank fraud from first principles.
AirBnB CEO calling it “vibe revenue” just 👨‍🍳 😘

The underlying cause of every bubble - debt masquerading as financial innovation - depends on not just short financial memory & speculative neophytism, but reinventing jargon of finance, like how each generation of kids has new ways to say same things.

So funny how we did all the "who's really in charge?" discourse under Biden even though it was pretty clear he was personally invested in some of his administration's least-popular actions, whereas Trump is just totally MIA on matters of great importance.
State Dept. Spokesperson now refuting GOP and Dem senators’ account of their joint briefing from Rubio - and claiming the 28 point plan IS authored by the US.

Hard to believe several senators would have fundamentally misunderstood what Rubio told them.

Breathtakingly dysfunctional government.

JFK was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald, acting alone.
My first political memory - exactly 62 years ago right now, a 4-year-old boy trying to understand his mom's tears - is still the biggest event in my lifetime. We still (IMO) don't *really* know who killed JFK, but we know the public's trust was shattered. It's a straight line to today's mess

why doesn't the Oregon GOP simply fight to repeal the gas tax altogether? Clearly, $0.06 more a gallon is too much for plowed roads and maintained bridges/traffic signals. maybe after 30 years of no road maintenance oregon will be a premier destination for gravel biking.

One thing they are incapable of doing is calling this pandering
Every article by a 'savvy' political analyst reads like a focus group transcript with a low-information voter.

mtg spent like ten years making enemies on the left and that seemed fine with her. she spent ten days making enemies on the right, had to hire security, and then had to quit altogether.

Good chance we find out very soon why “give to both sides” is actually a prudent strategy for these fuckers
The partisan divide has grown, too. The wealthiest 100 tended to give more to Republicans than to Democrats before last year. But giving to the GOP spiked in 2024, with *84%* of donations going to back Republicans or conservative PACs.

I am begrudgingly fine with both of these things ultimately because I support Democrats ability to do politics. We have a serious factional ratfucking problem and I have zero respect for those who do it in these times
BAD: sitting on stage with Liz Cheney after her and her dad endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.

GOOD: skinning and grinning with Donald Trump after he won the 2024 election and spent the entire year destroying the lives of millions.

Some of y'all continue to not be worth a fuck.
