Pedestrianize School Streets.
🚨 Shocking Stats on Speeding Near Edinburgh Schools! 🚨

I’ve been exploring this fascinating tool: speeding.hasp.ac.uk

It uses GPS data to show how often goods vehicles are speeding in Edinburgh (and beyond). The results? Honestly worrying.

the overlap of 'trans ppl are a social media contagion corrupting children' and 'child sexual assault imagery is fine if it is on x!' seems to be a perfect circle.

why are transphobes always defending pedophilia?

a mystery of the current age.

The utterly shameless & widely covered "report" out today, claiming net zero will "cost" £9tn is based on:

* Assuming free fossil-fuel energy, free petrol cars, free gas boilers, free gas power plants etc

AND

* Including climate damages in the "cost" of net zero

I kid you not, it is that stupid
🧵A political/media guide to the "truth" about net-zero

1) Add up costs to install & run a net-zero energy system
2) Pretend fossil-fuelled alternatives wld be free
3) Do say "eco zealots are bankrupting us"
4) Don't say "free cars if we scrap net-zero" cos it sounds ridiculous
5) That's it!

I hope every news site that does one of those probably-illegal-but-noones-tried-it-yet "accept all cookies or subscribe" popup knows exactly how much I'm using archive sites to bypass that. You might have gotten a tiny ad revenue but now you're getting ziltch

We made it very clear in a response to the Mail that this individual had no association with BASH BACK, it seems the Daily Mail's Martin Beckford values endangering vulnerable people over telling the truth

Shame on him. Shame on the Daily Mail. Shame on Toby Young and his FSU.

These people spent the better part of a decade saying that 'if you don't like the preference the right wing is given on twitter then just leave'. Now the nazis are running it they're traipsing out any and every excuse to try and keep you there.

Any decent person should delete their X account.

Every day, thousands of women and children are victimized by people on X using the Grok chatbot to generate scantily clad and naked photos of them.

It’s time for governments to take action. Elon Musk’s X should have been banned long ago. They don’t have an excuse to delay any longer.

Just seen Grok putting the body of the victim of the ICE shooting in Minneapolis into a bikini. Digital corpse desecration now available to the public.

Labour government continues to be utterly spineless when it comes to the car lobby.
DfT press release on footway parking.

They've bottled a national ban and so will rely on local action with new powers (which are not explained, but area-based).

A postcode lottery as now then? I await actual details.

Yes, 20mph can deliver in a big way on this but a casualty reduction target of 65% in 10 years doesn’t go anywhere near far enough. There shouldn’t be an ‘acceptable’ number of deaths on our roads when every death is a tragedy. This should be a national Vision Zero policy.

Commenting as Govt launch a road safety strategy.

Every death on our roads is unacceptable. We need a Vision Zero ethos: no deaths or serious injury. Change driving culture, reject speeding, use speed-limiting tech, strengthen sentences, end ‘accident’ language. Driving is a privilege, not a right.

Of course, in the UK "regulators" are never really regulators. Their raison d'etre is political: to dress political goals in regulatory clothing, to act as reputational buffer zones, to gaslight outsiders like you and I into thinking regulation exists. But never, god forbid, to regulate.
Ofcom *might* "undertake a swift *assessment* to determine *whether* there are *potential* compliance issues that *warrant investigation*."

Hard to believe, but we waste almost a quarter of a billion pounds of public money annually on this absolute shower of a regulator.

Not even the prompts. If you are a Twitter user in the UK and Twitter sticks a Grok CSAM image in your feed for WHATEVER reason, well congrats your device just downloaded child porn. And you are legally responsible for that.
Even if nobody wants to take action against Musk for building a CSAM generator, there are people using it who are based in the UK and those prompts are absolutely something that would get you on the sex offender's register. Absolutely no justification not to try to identify and prosecute users.

We've now published the names of everyone who has donated to a FSU fundraiser, along with how much they gave and to which campaign.
