Hey! You! Do you like... learning things? Do you like... laughing?? Do you like... being that annoying person in the conversation who gets to say "um ACTUALLY Einstein wasn't even that smart he couldn't even swim and he KEPT falling in the ocean and making people save him"?

Then you'll LOVE my book
[four days later] a labour spokesperson has denounced conservative plans to forcibly deport legal migrants with settled status, saying the "sums don't add up" and "only labour can solve the immigration crisis"
Worth saying that despite asking for more than 12 hours we’ve had nothing back from Labour on this
A Conservative MP tipped as a future party leader has been condemned for saying large numbers of legally settled families must be deported, in order to ensure the UK is mostly “culturally coherent”.

If Labour cannot denounce mass deportation of permanent residents, Idi Amin style, what is the point of them?

Charges against Linehan dropped, and the police say they will "no longer investigate non-crime hate speech."

Can someone explain to them that:

a) linehan also did some criminal damage in that incident, and

b) HATE SPEECH IS A FUCKING CRIME.

These people are sadistic wannabe dictators who enjoy other people dying, and I’m tired of people not saying what they are happy to admit

Tens of millions of people are set to lose food stamps in weeks and conservatives are celebrating it right in the open on social media. They’re gleeful about starving children, literally saying “fuck them kids.” Yet another reason that “pro-life” is a misnomer. They’re loudly pro-death

An OpenAI executive said GPT-5 found solutions to 10 "previously unsolved" math problems when in reality all it did was find online references to places where people had already solved them

No, GPT-5 did not solve a bunch of previously unsolved math problems.

The whole point of democracy is so one person's derangement does not become everybody's problem. It's social hygiene. The fact the richest men in the West are a mix of grotty twelve year olds and deranged apocalypse fanatics is a problem, and we should be honest about it.
let too many clowns into your big tent and you can't be upset when people start calling it a circus
"big tent" opposition to fascism and authoritarianism simply cannot include, for example, transphobes or racists. they are holes in the canvas. they must hang up their hangups or go home.
neither of these things are bad in a vacuum but if either is stretched so far as to include even a little fascism as a treat then you've already lost
fascism trojan-horsed its way into power by talking about "freedom of speech" and it's trojan-horsing its way out of being opposed by talking about "big tent politics"

It's very trendy for the woke left to mock the police these days, but this is the kind of thing that you and I might miss.
Hey Ron how old are most people when they give birth
DeSantis said “Most people, particularly under 50, what they really need is a catastrophic plan that’s affordable, where then they can pay whatever they’re doing out of a health savings account.”

Ron DeSantis says people under 50 don’t have much use for comprehensive health insurance
'Catastrophic care' should be enough for them.

This, but also it’s people who have profited endlessly from this horrendous behaviour now still repeating and intensifying it in the hope it will reap the same rewards. Like experiment rats in cages, still pressing the button that delivers a bump of cocaine, long after the button has been disabled.

Werner Herzog voice: And this man, Joe, known for his Cotton Eye, where did he come from? And, perhaps more importantly for our story, where did he go?
You are literally here saying that we should vote for labour, who are doing same or same as makes no difference as reform and Tories, so we don't get reform or Tory policies. That literally makes no sense. You're telling me to eat the chicken because otherwise you'll close down all the vegan cafes.
Then uhh maybe the democrats should have been votable-for??

Over and over again, establishment journalists just refuse to describe Republican policies and beliefs in plain language to mislead the public. The GOP says it is purging liberals from academia and journalists reframe it as “rebuilding trust.” That is not journalism, it is regime propaganda.

Every day I hear more stories of how UK schools are actively harming trans kids.

It was always variable.
It got worse post Cass.
It is now getting so much worse post EHRC.

It is so bloody simple to support trans kids in schools - they are actively working hard to cause this much harm.

Labour are absolutely making noises to leave the ECHR already, and will make it effectively impossible to get ILR. So it's not a clear dividing line, it's just a current level of compromise you're willing to defend. And when they do start deporting people, you'll defend that too.
The same thing would happen to them though
