"Bah, bad politician is just trying to DISTRACT me!!"

*watches mindless reels for 6 hours*

*literally loses the ability to comprehend more than one concept at a time*

*atrophied mind turns to ai*

*ai is also owned by malignant capitalists*

Brands are how we understand our communities now. Everyone identifies as, or with, brands. And if we brand ourselves well enough and *consistently* enough we are loved by the system - just enough love of course, and the rules could change at any time, which we all accept as part of the work

The guy Canada’s official opposition leader just joined on a livestream has also previously posted seeking a “naughty Filipina”

My sincere apologies to the Filipino community 😔

🇨🇦 Carney and Starmer are essentially the same guy.
The answer is very simple, Starmer has no real political coalition. His appeal is to what I'd call totalitarian pessimists – people who truly believe politics is just triangulation towards perpetual decline, a game of optimizing the management of ever-dwindling resources. Children of Men-ass policy.

This meme implies astronauts are constantly shooting each other in space to cover up a horrific secret. In fact that has only happened 4 times in NASA’s entire history

This is the reverse of how liberals act about protest of any kind that is done outside of the rules. If you do not have your papers in order, then your tactics, however just your cause, are suspect. On the other hand, if you file the proper papers, your cause, no matter how vile, is now acceptable.
Processes and institutions over people. Gotta be a name for that.
She helped pass a bill—which is 100% part of liberalism. Maybe you don’t like the bill. Maybe the bill will hurt some people and have bad outcomes. But that’s part of liberal democracy.

I made the same stupid decision many many times this year: “I guess I might as well work too hard.”
I don’t give a shit about your accomplishments this year. What’s the dumbest shit you did the past 12 months? The truly stupidest decision you made in 2025?

The process of every institution from universities to the press thoroughly converting themselves into a bunch of bowling pins to be knocked down by whichever passing right-wing imbecile has the least shame is pretty much complete
one little thing that really rankles about the reporting on this story is how they say she "cited" the bible. no she didn't! she alluded to it at best

The University of Oklahoma has removed an instructor who was accused by a student of religious discrimination over a failing grade on a psychology paper in which she cited the Bible and argued that promoting a “belief in multiple genders” was “demonic.” https://cnn.it/4b6g3rd

the thing I don’t like about posts like this is all the Canadians in the replies “omg someone mentioned the country I am from and yes we are indeed special.” Canada is like if Gen X was a country
people are clowning on this, but the Canadian mind is cunning, pitiless, steeped in boreal perfidy
The Atlantic suggesting, without evidence, that Canada's Global TV broadcasting the '60 Minutes' segment on CECOT that CBS distributed to it may have been an act of "treachery."

it was from the leadership candidate that I will be supporting (@avilewis.ca). if he is chosen it will be a sign to me that ppl realize the moment we find ourselves in, &what the moment requires. I've seen no sign of that kind of insight ++years. I will latch on to the slightest sign of hope however
"The NDP was dead, to begin with. There is no doubt whatever about that. The register of its burial was signed by the Speaker, the president of the CLC, the party membership, and the electorate at large. The NDP was as dead as a doornail."
