The biggest trick capitalism ever pulled wasn’t convincing people its good, it was convincing them it’s the only option.

It's why “socialism” was made a dirty word, basic dignity framed as dangerous & why alternatives are buried.

When ppl believe there’s no alternative, status quo wins by default.

It’s our task to mend the rifts in the working class, not to coddle chauvinists at all cost. People who claim the opposite just show which parts of the working class they view as expendable.

Here’s what Huey P. Newton had to say:

People really need to stop treating military service like it’s just a job of no consequence and not an enabling of an administration or some imperialist agenda it has.

It was six years ago today that a man in Wuhan, China began feeling ill.

He would become the first known COVID case.

Covid is still with us. It’s still killing and disabling.

Clean the air. Wear a mask. Get your boosters.

Public health is a social justice issue.

I used to joke that phones were lovecraftian madness runes, made by the labor of thousands of slaves gathering material, and shaped by skilled artisans into objects that create mesmerizing lights which dazzle and confuse the minds of all who behold them. But it really does get more true every year.

Maybe another way to think of it is as the "participation line" - the income one needs to fully participate in expected aspects of US life without worrying about plunging into deprivation one way or another

An investor called $140,000 the new poverty line. Experts disagreed but said he had a point.
Michael Green’s tally of the costs of raising a family in the U.S. today is going viral, even if some economists scoff at his math.

For example, the room of Canada’s top journalists heartily laughing as Poilievre mocks the concept of “Queers for Palestine” as “crazy.”

Yikes.

This👇 is correct. I say that as a 73 year old person who grew up in a 'two gender solution' world, and who, as a cisgender traditionally male person has been quite comfortable in it. But I can now see that this model, though convenient for me, does violence to others. It is wrong & must go.
The so-called “two gender solution” is an unworkable fantasy

Gretzky is the kind of guy you can really use to sell expropriation (to be generous)
And he made Janet run all that defence for a while, before the horrors of ICE cranked way up. When the belligerence to Canada was on going. Now he still does this.

Celebrities, meh, but this one was forced on us like some Canadian monarch. Boo him. Laugh at him. Forget him.
Trump went golfing with Wayne Gretzky today. That's FOX host Brett Baier on the right. Trump posted this on his Truth Social account.
