"we found a Type Of Guy who represents a particularly helpful corner of the latent space" is easily my favorite type of positive LLM posting.
Our Discord support agent was kind of annoying, so I asked it to pretend to be a 58-year old systems administrator from Ohio that wrote on forums a lot.

Turns out -- this makes your support bot extremely competent. The quality of its support responses are now far better.

This paper linked in the article is interesting. I’ve wondered before how you would verify that translations are accurate with no ground truth- this is one method for approaching that problem!

Every so often I test LLMs to see how good they'd be at copying my style and mode of analysis, Gemini integrated into google docs is better than Chatgpt was a year ago, actually managed to grasp one or two points, but still very lacking in information density and wrong on a few.

A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

remarkable that Trump has achieved a thing Linebarger's textbook of Psychological Warfare claimed was impossible – not by attaining Nazi uniformity, but in fact by exacerbating American division to the point of disconnecting executive war-making power from everything else

I pray for the day I can get someone smarter than me to focus on the same problems I'm fixated on.
seeing a machine do something that you previously thought was unique to your cognition, and opening up that capability to anyone, is to many people a deep narcissistic injury. this explains much about the social environment

DSA has benefitted greatly by being a clearing house for the sects, a british left party which actively silences and polices members to keep out sects isn't a recipe for success.
