I don't know who the gentleman to the left of Mamdani is, but he's delightful in every clip I've seen of this press conference. I don't know if he expected his day to go this way but he's making the most of it.

This is nonsense to cover for the fact that a lot of police departments dont like speed cameras and automated enforcement tech (except plate readers) in general because (A) they get ticketed breaking the law and (B) they see it as a threat to police jobs.

There are four more students from Liam's MN school district in federal detention in Dilley, TX, two of them from the same school as Liam. A second grader, a fourth grader, a fifth grader, and a high-schooler.
i am so grateful that liam ramos as home. this is also a story about the importance of observation and getting these stories out there. how many children are detained that don’t get the same treatment because they don’t have powerful photos

For a very long time you did not need a passport to cross back and forth to Mexico and Canada. I am Gen X and El Paso folks my age remember crossing to drink in Mexico for the night and then coming back home. There are families who continued living in the same place when the border moved.
The people who are saying shit like "well it's either this or the borders are totally open" are doing their best to convince America that we should have completely open borders.
