i am not pretending like ICE is not a massive escalation, but i think a lot of liberals horrified by ICE’s actions should take some time to think about how the demand for unconditional increases to funding police agencies that violate the law every day paved the way for this

CHICAGO (WGN) - A WGN creative services department employee was detained by two Border Patrol officers and later released after federal agents
swarmed a busy intersection on Chicago's North Side Friday morning, at the height of rush hour.
WGN is not naming the employee, as station policy requires blurring faces and not identifying those who have not been charged with a crime.
Witnesses on site who captured the incident on video spoke to WGN about the moments leading up to the staffer's detainment.

i guess we just disagree with. i think having peaceful acts meant with violence and arrest has been a staple of successful acts of civil disobedience basically throughout history and they should continue it here. i think they can do more than one thing and as senators we can expect that of them

this was a good thing to do and got press and is also still different from going past guards into a facility where they are duly responsible for oversight. but also yes, my post was primary calling out the white men in congress and the senate who will not use the protection that affords them
