I don't know if it's "charming" exactly but I'll always remember the last Lufthansa flight circling over Auckland to say goodbye after we closed our borders, and not knowing when they'd be back, but knowing it was the right thing to do
What's a charming memory you have from the worst period of the pandemic?

I have long not been a Prasad fan. He was a practicing oncologist who mocked people for masking. I'm not surprised, but infuriated.

I think it's bad that all countries aren't doing more to push to get kids vaccinated. But Vinay Prasad allegedly going to tighten vaccine restrictions while claiming without evidence that 10 kids died from Covid vax is monstrous. www.washingtonpost.com/health/2025/...

Obviously babies younger than six months can't be vaccinated. But if you're a plan of a baby six months or older....please get them vaccinated.

Unvaccinated infants are the second most likely group to get hospitalized for Covid after older adults. Any effort to minimize the effectiveness for kids is evil.

Also, they can ask what's happened with this?
How dare they pretend to support food banks while declining food grants and pulling funding.

This is my basic conclusion too. There's a fluff piece on Bishop in Newsroom and there's a piece saying he tried to roll Luxo and was outwitted and there's some waffling from Peter Dunne, and none of these things add up to anything definitive. But they (weirdly) exist. Why do they exist #nzpol
But there are Known Knowns.
We know there are rumours.
We know people in National are spreading them & discussing them with journos.
We know Bishop has been accused of being behind it, & that some in National want us to think it's all over and Luxon rinsed him.

These are Known. Not much else is.

And in a society being driven by, uh, this administration, the volume of depression isn't being alleviated.
