i think this is exactly right. fascism is the Death Drive as ideology. it's why the catastrophic end of the Nazi Party does not deter people from worshipping Nazis. that the Nazis destroyed Germany along with the rest of Europe is part of the appeal.

It's not very nice to say but pro Israel groups have wedded themselves to the causes of doing away with free speech and freedom of movement (logical conclusion of their underlying defense of a state which has neither) and liberals aren't obliged to pretend that this isn't the case.
