This press conference should be a wakeup call to anyone who (still) doesn't think Trump and America represent a clear threat to Canada's sovereignty and independence.

Cuba is clearly next. Then who?

I sure would hate to be an oil-rich country whose sovereignty the US doesn't recognize within easy striking distance of US soil. That would be scary!

It’s not about drugs. If it was, Trump wouldn’t have pardoned one of the largest narco traffickers in the world last month.

It’s about oil and regime change.

And they need a trial now to pretend that it isn’t. Especially to distract from his sinking under Epstein and skyrocketing healthcare costs.

Trump is transactional. This isn’t about narcotics, it’s certainly not about “helping the Venezuelan people”. It’s about the $billions in oil money they now plan to extract. And likely, in no small part, to gain leverage in the upcoming NAFTA renegotiations with their largest trading partner.

US refineries are built to process heavy crude of the type only found in Canada & Venezuela.

The plan here is all part of Trump's ongoing bid to destroy the Canadian economy & force us to submit to annexation & being a vassal state.

although I need to say, the number of times I've read (like here) that the invasion of Venezuela means Canada must now build a new pipeline, makes me very nauseous.

As the US doubles down on the fossil fuel economy, Canada should run in the other direction.

No public money for pipelines.

In the 80s and 90s it never dipped below 2 meters.

In 2025 it dipped below 1.3 meters.

When will it hit zero?
