Throughout this entire #yyccc muni election campaign, I have not heard any candidates talk about school streets. Some have talked about bike infrastructure. Did I miss something? #yycbike

Dear Toronto: We will stop scoring runs this game if Doug Ford agrees to stop tearing out bike lanes. Until then, the runs will continue.

👍
When studies show the main reason majority refuse to bike is because of safety concerns, almost nothing else matters.

Omnium's are very capable heavy haulers, still feeling nimble even with a couple hundred pounds onboard. Not the best if carrying a couple kids is the primary use case.

Driving a car. You're basically on a livingroom couch staring forward like an idiot doing nothing.

What's something that isn't considered embarrassing but you think it should be?
bikebikeyyc.bsky.social
IMO without more safe bike lanes in cities we'll never see the uptake in cycling these same cities need

and you won't know who actually wins on the day of because of Dani's hand counting edict

Just need enough $$$ to order a couple containers into Canada...which would probably be too many bikes for our market.

One of the best bits of advice I received when we opened 15 years ago was to relentlessly focus on our brand first and offer an authentic experience for people that wander in.

Sadly, one of the brands we've had to put on the hold shelf. We can still get them but shipping costs are prohibitive.

Even if they shifted operations to Canada that would not affect tariffs into the (potentially) huge US market as tariffs are based on country of origin.

The market in Canada for these cool bikes is almost non-existent at present.

I still remember my grandma's number though she's been gone for 20 years.
I know my wife's number.
Also know the phone numbers of a few of the bigger bike shops in town from my years as a sales rep :)
Thinking I need to commit to memory my son's number...

No official snow at the Edmonton airport yesterday, but Calgary did record 1cm. #yeg #yegwx #yyc #yycweather
This is Calgary's earliest snow since 2021.
The last time that they got a really early September snow was 2019, and 2018 for us.

Already gone too.
Ground is still too warm to let a measly 1cm survive any amount of sunshine.

It's hard to help Americans left behind because so much of US identity is rooted in individualism. The average American conservative holds all three positions at once:

— Virtue signals about supporting US manufacturing
— Against raising the minimum wage
— Buys foreign imports because they're cheap
HardPass4 on Twitter tweets: "I'm willing to pay more for quality products if they are made in America, by Americans, who are paid a decent income." The tweet shows Norman Rockwell's "Freedom of Speech" painting, which is often used to show the tweeter is expressing a brave opinion. HardPass4 on Twitter tweets: "MINIMUM WAGE JOBS WERE NOT MEANT TO BE A CAREER. Why does no one understand this? Entry level jobs are STEPPING STONES to better jobs. No one wants to work towards that though." HardPass4 on Twitter tweets: "Buy $5 gloves instead of $50 ones. Trust me." The tweet shows a box of "Gorilla Grip" gloves. The label on Gorilla Grip gloves show they're made in China.

i've been following him for a few years now. i love how he connects what seem like disparate issues together to form a coherent understanding of humanity's predicament

just up in the pass area...nothing here...and it was only 1-2cm up there. just enough to make the ride a little more magical

Simple way to avoid car companies bricking your vehicle by installing a forced software update: make sure your vehicle is a bicycle.

The future is great, huh?

"A software update to Jeep 4xE models caused major malfunctions over the weekend – leaving many owners stranded and some in danger after their power failed."

Taking a few shots at #BigBikepack and their focus on trying to seduce you into believing the only way to have fun bikepacking is by owning a splashy/fancy/bespoke/expensive bike.

Oh ya...and we go for a fun end-of-season overnighter - with snow! 🚲❄️🏔️🏕️
