Carney’s calamitous course causes consternation at climate summit
Canada arrived at COP30 with empty hands, expressly moving backwards on almost every climate policy we’ve put in place since Paris.

It's been striking for me this year that it's not even an active war; climate has just largely fallen out of the news here in the USA; you could say the media abandoned the field of conflict. I feel that we need to claw back the democracy in which we can achieve climate goals, but.....

This headline is a perfect example of the challenge we face: it is not a debatable issue where "many fighting climate change worry" we are losing the information war, it is a simple fact that we are being buried in bad faith lies and fossil fuel propaganda

2/8 The logic is seductive: let those who can pay exit the public queue, shortening it for everyone else.

But this fails the laws of physics.

It's incredibly divisive. 3/22

A thread on the MOU.

MOST IMPORTANT: Carney's move signals to the rest of Canada, and the world, that it's OK to keep building more fossil fuel projects.
Other countries will use this to justify doing the same.

Our children are watching, to see if we care about their futures. Do we? 1/22

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith liberally uses "woke" as a slur. Multiple times, not just once. Now calls "DEI a destructive mandate". Wow. Just wow.

I'm everything hated by the current Alberta government in one human.

Federal-Alberta MOU risks unravelling Canada’s climate policy
While promised improvements to industrial carbon pricing are positive and important, other aspects of Alberta-Canada MOU will undermine policy effectiveness across the country.
