Since Polygon is leaving it out of the headline: Epic Games partnered with The Game Awards to put money into the pocket of a bigot who uses her wealth to further the genocide of trans people through lawsuits and legislation. Every 'free' game gives money directly to JKR, and they are complicit.

Mum took Jessie 🐕 out on a walk, and people were checking through their windows and enquiring about her 🐕 well-being because she was making strange and horrible noises

She'd seen a cat 🤦

I’ve posted this before but the light was perfect today- a little Victorian cat paw in a brick at the front of the old Norfolk & Norwich Hospital. As this is on the front-facing corner of the main gates, the bricklayer quite clearly put it there on purpose, at a height where children would spot it.

This picture has been making the rounds again, and is being misidentified again.

This is a GOOSEFISH.

This is NOT a tasselled wobbegong shark.

It’s a great pic. I get why people are very excited about it. But it’s as easy to give it the right name as the wrong one.

Danger Rug, Danger Rug, Nuthin's Stranger'n Danger Rug! 🦈🦈🦈
The Tasselled Wobbegong is a master of disguise that can eat a fish almost as big as itself in one gulp. It's classified as a shark, but when it lays on the sea floor it looks like a harmless rug if you manage to see it. But with powerful jaws and sharp teeth they are no fish to mess with.

Decision in the Sandie Peggie case.

She was not directly or indirectly discriminated against, her claim of victimisation fails entirely, her claim of harassment fails largely and her claim against Beth Upton fails entirely. www.judiciary.uk/judgments/sa...

Post hoc process mistakes by the board are not the issue or the story. The tribunal has held there was no problem with Dr Upton being in spaces she was entitled to be in. That’s the key. Peggie was not discriminated against.

This is one of those situations that will get used against trans men with the rhetoric "trans men are welcomed into women's spaces!" When if you read the fine print uh...no.
They view trans men as "biological women" and have been stated as rejecting trans people based on appearance-

An easy way to explain luddites:

Textile manufacturers brought in machines that could do in an hour what would have taken 12 hours by hand.

And then, tried to keep paying the now 12x more productive workers the same wages as before.

That's it, that was the problem luddites had. Not complex.

Also once you put it in its historical context, it becomes very obvious that the TNG theme was originally a cinematic theme

It has that very swoopy orchestral vibe that doesn't really come into TV scores until about a decade or two later

(A more boop-boop version does show up in 90s video games)
