BY THE WAY

If you've updated to Windows 11 recently, you're probably on version 25H2.

There's a new setting in Settings: Privacy & Security.

Scroll aaaaaaaalll the way to the bottom and you'll see "Text and Image Generation."

TURN IT OFF.
Nightmare reality. I will continue to disable/uninstall with a vengeance.

Also, who would like to bet that it can only recognise American and British newsreader-type accents, and will shit the bed with any other kind of accent/dialect?

(Me. I will take that bet.)
This is the future of Windows. Microsoft wants to rewrite Windows to turn computers into AI PCs that you talk to. It's now bringing AI features to all Windows 11 PCs today, in a bid to convince you to talk to your PC and let AI control it. Full details 👇 www.theverge.com/news/799768/...

With the EHRC acting like it is. It shows that it is really important to keep trying to get in contact with your MP.

We have seen that this is working.
🚨This is an emergency🚨

This Government is currently sitting on an EHRC Code of Practice that will lead to the segregation and exclusion of trans people in public life.

I decided that since I was already planning 20, I may as well make it a whole alphabet - so at some point next year, I'm hoping to have a little book of 26 sexy antagonists. New additions include a torturer, a woodland king, and a slightly frazzled sorceress.
I'm now at 14/20! New additions include a mean butler with a history of poisonings, a sad but violent ghost, and a literal dragon.
I did some work on it this week! I'm writing a little compendium of sexy antagonist NPCs. 5/20 drafted, including an undead knight-errant who punishes bad leaders, a mercenary who just wants to retire, and a forest nymph hivemind.

Men in balaclavas set fire to a mosque in East Sussex last night. It's only appearing on the BBC's local coverage, rather than its main national headlines, despite coming just a week after the (also under-reported) firebombing of an asylum hotel in London last week

Glasgow Gender Clinic now has a waiting time of 224 years. The average across the UK is now 25 years.

This segregated system isn’t working and is wasting millions. The NHS has been told time and again - informed consent now.

So @railnatter.uk recently put out a new episode on level boarding - as both Northern and ScotRail confirm that their new fleets will be low-floored to enable level boarding, it's worth stating: WE WON.

It will be very difficult for new fleets not to be LB-ready now 🏆

So we're going to force brown people to do unpaid labour against their will? The british do have previous on this one, but I think we gave it another name.
"Migrants will have to carry out community work or volunteering to qualify to permanently remain in the UK, according to the Home Secretary." [Telegraph]
Maybe it's just because I've had a very busy couple of days and am exhausted, but watching Mae Martin play an openly trans character in their own Netflix drama has me quite emotional.

I'm only 20 minutes in so this isn't a recommendation as such, but I wanted to voice how important it feels.

It's so strange to me how the absolutely core question at the heart of politics - "what kind of society do we want to live in?" - is so absent from discussion, either assumed settled or reduced to meaningless generalities.

I'm going to provide my own definition of "sanitisation" (i.e. "to ensure a thing is not harmful"), since it's often used pejoratively. I'm planning to talk about the importance of representation in children's literature and why I feel it is regressive to think children need to be "toughened up".
This feels very odd to say, considering when I was at university I went to one (1) debating society meeting and hated it, but - I'm going up to Scotland on Thursday to take part in a debate!

In an incredibly detailed report (it's almost 80 pages, tiny font), a top independent human rights commission has concluded Israel is committing genocide. The Pillay Commission report was released today (I'm still working my way through it) www.bbc.com/news/article...

Recently planned out a new writing project 😊 Knowing me, none of you will see it for like two years, but it is nice to do something creative that's entirely mine again.

every time there's political violence discourse i think about how jo cox was assassinated in broad daylight by a fascist who shouted "britain first" as he shot her, and now nine years later her party is dedicating every moment in power to placating the ideology of her murderer
