Australia recorded ZERO cases of cervical cancer in women under 25 for the first time since they started tracking the cancer in the 80s.

This is the power of vaccines.

The HPV vaccine is extremely effective at preventing cancer.

Viruses can be oncogenic. Get your vaccines and protect yourself!
newsGP - Australia set for world-first cervical cancer elimination
Vaccination programs have played a key role, and GPs remain ‘instrumental’ in boosting screening rates to reach the 2035 target.

If you’re a journalist who’s still on Twitter, from now on in your writing you have to replace “the American people want” with “troll bots in Eastern Europe demand”

Being there makes your judgment suspect. I don’t care how savvy you think you are, you’re marinating in a disinformation campaign.

Record breaking prices for artwork sales do not, sadly, represent an investment in art and artists.

Investors are reducing their taxable profits before the end of the tax year with big one-off purchases while universities cut their humanities faculties and artists earn less than minimum wage.
A self-portrait by legendary Mexican artist Frida Kahlo sold for $54.66 million (€47.34m ) in New York yesterday, setting a new record for the price of a painting by a woman, the auction house Sotheby's said

A great time to remind everyone that the largest landlord in the Gaeltacht is now a British company letting Airbnbs.
Watch now they'll call me an elitist for bringing up that lucht na Gaeltachta are often at a severe disadvantage in terms of housing and opportunity and they don't get much support outside of their own community

It's a great cosmic joke that neurodivergence both runs in families and gets diagnosed based on parent reports. I was diagnosed at 30 because a man who has eaten potatoes every day for 57 years and a woman who collects loose buttons decided I was a perfectly normal child.

Yes we should use more timber and this should have started decades ago, but not sitka! It's a toxic, invasive species and its high-volume profit-above-all intensive farming here produces soft, spongy, shitty, useless wood. If we start planting more useful trees now the next generation would benefit.
How a new approach to Irish timber could help deliver homes
Why aren't we using Irish wood to build Irish homes quickly, cheaply and sustainably at a time when we are in desperate need?

"Because we never hit our targets, we never manage to spend our budget, and it makes us look bad, so instead we're going to operate more on a 'whatever makes us feel good' basis and not commit to anything. It's not really that urgent because I personally have a house, so...yeah."
“Why is there no annual targets in this plan?”

“Because we are focused on activation,” Minister for Housing James Browne says.

“We want to get away from yearly targets,” he adds.

The biggest hinder to solving Ireland's housing crisis is not finaincing, or planning law, or judicial reviews - it's that Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael don't want to.
Again if you find yourself wondering about things like Judicial review because politicians and some right wing journos say this is the reason we can’t get things done, just remember this is complete bollix and the real reason is lobbyists, lobbyists, lobbyists and politicians who become lobbyists.

All perfectly normal in Fascist America.

Ireland is really in a "clowns to the left of us, jokers to the right" situation.
In Chicago, a woman was driving to get coffee when a DHS vehicle fleeing an angry crowd crashed into her car. Armed agents jumped out of the vehicle, yanked her door open, pulled her by the legs out of her car at gunpoint, held her incommunicado for hours, then released her with no charges.

Like nearly everything he's ever said, this is a weird stupid delusional lie. Nobody should listen to Elon Musk. If he hadn't lucked into nauseating amounts of money, nobody ever would.
Elon Musk, "These lovely small towns in England, Scotland and Ireland, they've been living their lives quietly. They're like hobbits"

"And so one day, 1,000 people show up in your village of 500 and start raping the kids"

"This has now happened, God knows how many times in Britain"
