I hate this stuff so much. It’s just a completely terrible user experience by design. It can’t even be profitable, I just don’t get it.
It’s so cool that every website is just Like This now. We used to send guys to the chair for putting pop-up ads on their sites. Now if I want to read something I have to read single lines between autoplaying video ads that use so much RAM they force the browser to reload every 5 seconds.

The ACA isn't just "health care for people who don't have a conventional employer." It also disallows something that was incredibly common 20 years ago, which I fear is getting lost to generational memory: insurance companies could deny you health care for essentially any previous health problem.
I'm dubious about Amazon's commitment to keeping pre-existing conditions a thing of the past.

Hello, my name is Generic Democratic Candidate in an extremely red district or state. I'm a veteran, a small business owner and a parent who will work with anyone. I am running for X office against a right-wing candidate in a race they will certainly win. Can I get 20,000,000 likes and $2 million?

Hi Senator. Glad you're posting to Bluesky. But kinda weird that you're trying to kill Section 230 at the same time which would make it very difficult for Bluesky to exist. Maybe think through that a bit more carefully?

NOEM: We haven't deported veterans

Okay this is going to be long so mute it if you don't want a granular explanation but first: SHAME on @ronfilipkowski.bsky.social for misrepresenting what Chair Powell said in order to pat himself on the back. Shame on you.

Let's talk about measuring the 171mm people of the US labor force.
@peark.es seems real bad that the fed chair doesn't trust the job numbers

Healthcare for profit is evil as it is but "want patients to become consumers" is just despicable.
Roger Marshall: "We want patients to become consumers again. We want patients to see what the actual prices are. We believe that if we would add the price tags to this bill, that it would save the country a trillion dollars a year."

435 isn’t a magic constitutional number. Congress can and should enlarge the size of the House. But it won’t.

The Supreme Court just escalated the redistricting war. Congress must end it. - The Boston Globe
The best solution would be to increase the size of the House of Representatives from its current 435 members.

Yes, and what if your access to affordable healthcare was considered a right guaranteed to everyone by the government and not a bauble of certain types of employment or friggin club store membership? What then?
Rand Paul on his healthcare plan: "What if you could join Costco? Costco has 44m members and if one person negotiated for all 44 and they bought a group plan like Toyota or General Motors does, they would be the largest collective entity in the country. They would drive prices down by sheer might."

The Sunday morning political shows are just an opportunity for conservatives to lie as they push their very unpopular ideas and policies to a complicit press willing to have their programs launder these ideas.

It’s been this way for decades and few noticed or cared.

But now it’s just dangerous.
