—axing all the Nat Geo writers and most editors (incl me)

Disney makes inhumane decisions for short-term gain while causing untold long-term damage.

This is definitely the angle from which to look at this recent narrative. I do think some of the players here have extremely cooked brains, but I also do not believe for a second that is the whole story. It is certainly a convenient screen!
These ridiculous mega-projects like "datacenters in space" (doomed by thermodynamics) make a LOT more sense when you realize they're massive Ponzi schemes designed to transfer wealth from pension funds to VC's through "fee stacking."

It's the old Assets Under Management con. It should be illegal.
